We enjoyed an incredible day of kayaking and snorkeling! The reef was spectacular and our guide, Justin, was amazing and so informative.

Went on a two-tank dive with Subway Watersports on April 13, 2023. Osmond was our divemaster. He was excellent. The dive boat was very nice and had the best ladder-boarding system I’ve seen. This dive company is based at Turquoise Bay Resort. (In fact, we were told it will be changing its name to Turquoise Bay Divers.) Most diving operations in Roatan are located in the western third of the island. Turquoise Bay Resort is in the middle of Roatan on the north shore. That makes it somewhat remote given the condition of Roatan roads.

While remote, Subway Watersports is a first-rate company with excellent facilities and equipment. Its HQ is clean, modern, roomy, and very well-staffed. It includes very nice/modern/clean bathrooms, ample/convenient parking, and is just 100 steps from the pier where its nice dive boats are located. That pier is in a very well-protected inlet so getting oneself and equipment aboard is always easy and safe.

Osmond took us to "White Hall" and "Rock Star". Both were excellent - clear water, pretty coral, and we saw a large, bright orange seahorse, a big Toad Fish, a large crab, a full-grown Moray eel swimming in the open, and many lobsters. My impression is that any dive in the Turquoise Bay area is going to be excellent.

In terms of other things to do, besides what's at the Turquoise Bay Resort, the adjacent horseback riding farm, and exploring many beautiful nearby beaches, there's not a lot. Most of Roatan’s shopping, bars, and restaurants are in the west 33% of the island. But for divers, that fact helps make scuba diving in and around Turquoise Bay especially good. I recommend it.

We had a great day with Mark. He is incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and solid. He took great care of us. Hydrobikes are easy and fun, even for my 11 year old. We snorkeled off Brady's Cay, had a great meal, and were delivered right back home. Mark is lovely and we would book another trip with him in a heartbeat.

Fabulous day with Captain Andrea, First Mate Steve along with Mischa and Fozzie who put the Dogs in City Dogs Sailing! We started our day with Steve’s yummy homemade banana bread served with pineapple and set out to Port Royal for some great snorkeling. The coral and sea life were amazing. After a great tour of the reef we returned to the boat and enjoyed refreshments, pasta salad, chicken wraps with all the fixings and water melon. The sail back was so relaxing with fun conversations and of course the company of their four legged pals. Andrea and Steve’s easy going personalities made it an awesome day!

This is my 3rd visit to Roatan and booking Murphy. I wouldn't book anyone else when visiting Roatan. This visit was me, my husband and his parents. Murphy was waiting for us upon arrival. We were booked to do the Glass Bottom Boat tour. It had been rainy the night before, so Murphy called ahead and make sure the tour was still a go and the water was clear. We enjoyed seeing the marine life and reef in the comfort of the glass bottom boat. Murphy then took us to the Argentinian Grill for lunch. We then went to do a bit of shopping and just drove around and let Murphy show us different areas of the island and explain the culture, etc. Murphy was very accommodating for my in-laws and made this a very memorable trip for us all. When I return to Roatan, as always, Murphy will be the only one I call on for transportation.

Michael Scott and Willie did an EXCELLENT job with my family and I. I highly recommend anyone looking for an amazing adventure.
Captain Michael also made sure to season our trip with fun and exotic stories that really made the trip special.
Many other boats I have used will just serve you. However they also entertain all 7 of us the whole trip.

My friend, Linda, and I went snorkeling with Jim and his captain, Marvin. They took us on a little boat tour and showed us around. Then we snorkeled the starfish bed and then off to another site that was just chock full of reefs and fish. It was very beautiful, and we had a great time. Both Jim and Marvin were kind, fun and attentive. My friend and I are older women who can't just jump in the boat easily anymore, and this was only the second time my friend had snorkeled in her life. They made it easy and amazing. Thanks, Jim!

Stopped as part of an excursion. We had lunch on the beach with great food. The waitstaff was fun. It was really fun to watch the guys trimming the palm tree by the pavilion. So many people NOT paying attention to what was happening then coconuts landing with a thud next to them.
Snorkeling was good, nice reef to explore. Everyone is friendly even if a bit over friendly (due to getting back to travel after Cvoid).

My son (13) and I booked a glass bottom boat tour before our cruise through shoreexcursiongroup.com. You can book ahead of time through this website or just show up that day. Roatan Aqua Tours can be found at booth #3 in the tour area just outside of the shopping area when you disembark your ship. The person who helped us at the booth was very friendly and was already expecting us for that day. He helped us to a van where there were 2 other families going on similar tours that day. All of us had signed up for the glass bottom boat, but the 2 other families had also booked some other stops for that day. More on that soon. Our driver and tour guide, William, started with a tour of the island. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. We stopped at a souvenir shop before heading to the glass bottom boat. There was no pressure to buy anything in the shop. The glass bottom boat was amazing! It was my son's and my first time doing that and we loved it. You sit in the bottom of the boat which is 6 feet below the water. We saw amazing ocean life and part of the 2nd biggest reef in the world. The guides on the boat were friendly and knowledgeable. After the boat tour, the others in our van were going to the animal experience where you can touch monkeys and hug sloths. William asked if my son and I would like to do that for an extra fee ($10 each) or, if not, he would take us for more of a tour of the island. I of course said yes, and we were not disappointed. Hugging a sloth was probably the biggest highlight of our entire vacation. This is a must do if you are visiting Roatan. After this, we stopped at a chocolate factory. The chocolate was very good so we purchased some to take home. Right across the parking lot from the chocolate factory is a souvenir shop that makes all of the products from recycled material. Very cool stuff in there. I suggest you check that out too. Next, one of the families in our van was doing a zip lining tour at South Shore Zip Line Adventure. William said that we would drop them off and then he would continue to take the rest of us on a tour of the rest of the island. Just as William was about to start the second half of the tour, the other family and I decided that we wanted to zip line as well. William had no problem with the changes and made sure that we had enough time to zip line and get back to our ship on time. The zip lining tour was absolutely amazing and beautiful. Again, the staff here were very friendly. It should be noted that my son and I did have to pay extra to take the zip line tour but it was well worth it. When we were done, William concluded our tour of the island and got us back in plenty of time. I highly recommend all 3 of these tours with this company. Request William as your driver/tour guide if you can. Remember to bring extra money for tips and maybe for extra tours that you were not expecting to do. It will be well worth it. This day was a highlight of our entire vacation!

My 8 year old twins LOVED this. We booked this through 2 places, the best being "Detour Roatan", which was the activity center just to the left of Bananarama (facing the resort from the beach) NOT the one to the right (where everyone is wearing blue shirts). There are 2 activity-outfits, with 2 flyboards and 2 drivers. BUT VERY DIFFERENT - and I did both. One board and driver are awful and my kids were unable to even get up for long (and they already knew how to get up). The other driver, named EVENS, is the one with the red jet ski and the silver fly board. From reading past reviews, this must be the driver other reviewers have commented positively on because he did the same things and allowed me go out with him on the jet ski in order to film my kids. EVENS is the best driver and he knows how to get the kids up and going quickly. He is very good at communicating with them and controlling the jet stream and he watches the kids closely. My kids did wonderful with him behind the wheel. The guys at Detour Roatan also gave us additional time (ask for EVER, JASON or RICK - all will treat you honest and good). The owner of Detour Roatan, Jamie Osborn is usually not there, but they can reach her on mobile and you can pay through PAYPAL and save the credit card fees. My kids wanted to do this every day and it really is safe because the driver has the ability to slow the jet stream and kids learn how to correct when the jet stream is lowered quickly after losing balance. Detour Roatan also scheduled a Early Fishing Trip for our family of 4 early in the morning where we were able to go out for 2 hours (I did not want a half day because that is too long for my wife and kids) on our own boat. The captain, CHRISTIAN, was phenomenal, and my daughter caught a 20lb Tuna that we took back to Bananarama (the chef there cooked it all up for dinner for free - adding to the fun). This outfit will always be my go-to when I return to West Bay.
