The ticket to a 30 minute Khon masked dance show is included in the Grand Palace, Bangkok ticket (500 THB) and shuttle is available to the dance show venue three times a day (Shows starting at 1, 2:30 and 4pm).

The production quality of the show is good and in a mere 30 minutes, you get a good idea of classical and village dances of different parts of Thailand, with live music. Absolutely loved the dance based on the Ramayan epic, featuring Hanuman and Suparna matcha.

    Absolutely unmissable!

I heard about the cinemas in Asia and my partner and I with a few hours to kill decided to watch the Star Wars movie here. the staff were excellent and we literally had a great experience BUT not all the movie was moving, some of the fight scenes. I think this was better as moving around for so long would make you sick

IMAX experience at its best. Quality of sound and environment is excellent. Depends on your seating experience may vary. Try to select the upper middle seats for the best experience.

It's a very nice theater, not super huge, but quite cozy while being able to fit a decent sized crowd. I went and saw Eddie izzard there and the venue was absolutely perfect. It's located right at Siam so we could not be any more central. A very nice theater going experience. I would say the only drawback was the reception area is quite small so picking up tickets at the venue was a little bit congested

Beautiful theater, excellent acoustics, seats 600, not a bad seat in the house. Great location a block from Victory Monument. Saw a world-class show (John Mclaughlin), but was disappointed to see that there are virtually no shows planned or advertised there. Would love to see some more music there.

Beautiful place, well presented with a large, excellent theatre space and fairly comfy seats. Very well ran with accurate timings and good atmosphere. It is quite commercialised in the lobby and drinks have to be bought and consumed outside in the interval.

One of very few of it's kind, not only in Bangkok but the whole country. Seat is quiet comfortable for a 3- hour show. Though I found the stage is a bit small which can handle no more than 4- 5 scences, the sound system is ok. The only real complain is the rest room which is not enough and quiet far away - you have to go downstairs or down the escalator to outside thratre and have to shoe your ticket on the way back into the theatre. 15 minutes intermittent is not enough and you have to miss the first few minutes of the second half show. The intermittent shoud be extended to at least 20 mi utes or even 30 minutes to make sense for elderly to go yo rest room. The ticket csn be bought through "Thai Ticket Master" through the internet. The shows are mainly Thai but worth a try cuz sometimes we do not undetstand italian in many plays as well. Once in a while they would bring real broadway show such as CATS and others to the theatre at price range between 1,000-1,500-2,000-3,000-4-5,000, depends on the production. If u r member of some club u may get discounts such as Visa Ultima 15% discount. The show my wife and I went 4 this time is "4 Reigns" a novel by M.R. Kukrit, ex Prime minister, and a son of Prince Kumrop back in 1911. The production is about a life of "Ploy" a daugther of high ranking officials in the reogn of King Rama5 to Kimg Rama 8. Very popular among the Thais especially after the death of The late King Rama 9. Difficult to find parking space . U have to be there early or use MRT subway Cultural Centre Station which is at the entrance of the Esplanade shopping complex where the theatre is located on the 4th floor.

This luxurious venue featuring a variety of performances are worth a look. Magnificent and luxurious buildings and available capacity crowd very much, able to accommodate up to thousands of spectators. Note the performance schedule on their website.

An ordinary theater located in the Siam Discovery Centre. However, for those of you who want to fill an ordinary time, can visit these places, while enjoying the performances there.

I booked this for my girlfriends birthday.. and was absolutely thrilled by our experience. We arrived about an hour early and the staff were very friendly — allowing us to pick which table we wanted and advised they’d hold it for us for the show. Be prepared for ALOT of food. I’d booked the 5 course meal and wasn’t disappointed. They even surprised me with a Birthday Thai dessert platter! 😊 Puppet show with enthusiastic performers. I think if you book this for very special occasions - it’s worth the extra price. A+++

On Friday a friend had seen an advertisement about a show there. We uses the map locator but couldn't find the place. We even phoned a number given on Trip Advisor but not contacted. We could see any signage in the area it was supposed to be. We even asked people in the area but no luck. What a disaster of an evening!

    WARNING – WARNING - WARNING!!!

Writing a review like this is highly uncharacteristic for me. I usually don’t dwell on negative events, nor do I want to sound vengeful or whiney. However, due to my recent unfortunate experience with Ekkolo Theatre, and its owner, I feel compelled to make sure artists and patrons in Bangkok are made aware of the many issues related with this theatre.

I recently completed a production in what was supposed to be a collaboration with Ekkolo Theatre, but it resulted in the worst experience I’ve had doing a play that I can remember. I have never worked with a producer/theatre that has conducted itself so unprofessionally, unethically, and treated people so poorly.

First and most importantly, the owner of this theatre exhibited deranged and threatening behavior yelling and screaming at the top of his lungs at the cast. He cancelled shows for personal reasons (against the insistence of the cast not to do so). Among other negative impacts, it resulted in patrons showing up to a closed theatre on nights the show was advertised to run. During the rehearsal phase of the show, he frequently kept the cast and crew waiting outside the theatre in the heat or rain for what would ultimately total many hours. He announced a personal two-week holiday in the middle of the rehearsal schedule and wouldn’t make arrangements for the company to get in the theatre during that time. He continuously delayed the purchase of anything specific to the production which created undue stress as the opening drew near and this compromised our dress rehearsals. He personally managed the reservation and ticketing and would not give anyone else visibility of this information. Additionally, when he cancelled some shows he accidentally cancelled all of the reservations and had to reinstate the event and ticketing. He wrote unsolicited performance notes to the cast in the middle of the run, despite not having a creative role in the show (quite amateurish notes at that). He did not meet his agreements to reimburse and pay the cast and crew, yet he kept all of the receipts for ticket sales. The theatre flooded repeatedly. Backstage for the actors is a glass hothouse located outside, it leaks and has no AC. There is only one bathroom in the entire theatre and it requires patrons to walk on stage and exit through the back to get to it. He claims the theatre holds 60-70 people, but it truly holds 35-40. Any more than this would be incredibly uncomfortable and a safety issue. Believe it or not, there’s more, but I think you get the idea.

Just for reference; I have been doing plays for many decades. I have done literally dozens from the time I was in school to Equity theatre, performing with professionals such as: Dan Butler, Nancy Cartwright, Joe Cortese, Tony Denison, Tim DeZarn, Anne Dowd, Carl Kurlander, Greg Mullavey, Michael Rooker, Joe Santos, Al Sapienza, Pam Segall, Casey Siemaszko, Carol Ann Susi, Berlinda Tolbert, and Nick Vallelonga, among many more.

Sadly, there is a very limited number of small theatres available in Thailand. So, it increases the chances that an artist may cross paths with Ekkolo. Should this happen, I recommend that you give very serious thought to what I’ve said. In my opinion…run away as fast as you can!
