What a lovely gallery. Was met by the owner, Carlos, who is very gracious and inviting. Very nice mixture of antiques, art, and one of a kind souvenirs. No pressure and he's very happy for you just to look around. Highly recommend that you visit.

Beautiful gallery. I had read about Karavan in my Lonely Planet Central America book prior to coming to Panama. I envisioned a large store with many items to purchase, but there was little to buy. Nonetheless, I walked out with two large, beautiful pieces. It is more expensive than going to the Embera community, but the Embera communities sell smaller items so if you're looking for something larger like I was, it's definitely worth the stop.

The MAC is a small museum and they feature 1 artist (changes periodically). It was a collection by the Panamanian artist Julio Zachrisson. Who I did not much care for. All of the information was only in Spanish so a bit hard to learn much about him.

The collection is changing soon they said.

Beware that the hours of the museum are not correct on the website. Says they are open until 8pm on saturdays but when we arrived at 4:45 pm yesterday, they were closing at 5pm. I will give them credit for allowing us to enter today without the fee-even their signage in the museum said they would be open until 8 pm but obviously was wrong. They said they will fix it.

Galeria Arteconsult has long been an exceptional gallery in Panama, founded by Carmen Aleman and now directed by her daughter, art historian, Ana Berta Carrizo. Each exposition is of highest quality, including the current retrospective of the art and career of Coqui Calderon, an important Panama artist and supporter, like arteconsult, of developing artists in Panama. A visit to arteconsult is inspiring and always a learning experience. It's in the San Francisco neighborhood north of Calle 50. Recommended for anyone who appreciates fine art!

This is BY FAR the best art gallery in Panama. They are responsive, have knowledge of their art/artists, and our purchase arrived perfectly. Gretchen and Guillermo are just a delight. We tried to buy art at Imagen Gallery but failed due to the fact that they never even sent the information on the painting I wanted--after numerous phone calls and emails--apparently they are not in the business of selling! Dgriso Art Gallery had no current phone number, Apriori Galleria de Arte also never sent me a picture of the piece we liked. Weil Art Gallery is pleasant but not for collectors of oil paintings.

I visited Colina Art Gallery today. I went in because I saw two paintings I side the gallery from the street. All of the art displayed was of the highest of quality. There were many artists’ works displayed but my favorites were painted by José Luis Colina. His wife, Betsy was in the gallery. She speaks English and was very versed about all of the art. She was also very sweet. I purchased a piece and look forward to hanging it in my home.

Looking forward to the 2025 show. Congratulations to the Curator and Artists.

This a great place to find special and alternative gifts made by local artists and entrepreneurs. All their products capture the essence of the Panamanian culture with a modern twist. Wether you're in town for a few days or you a resident, make sure you go to Super Mini, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Also they always host events that enlighten local artists as well as folklore and culture.

This store had the largest selection by far of wood carvings, masks, clothing, all the indigenous crafts you're looking to buy. Prices were similar to most others. Quality is good but I ended up wanting something a little higher end.
