Excellent state museum. I've visited Carson City at least a dozen times, and this was my first visit to this museum. Exhibits are well laid out, and there's even a geology section. The price is right and they've got just about something for everyone.

Very nice train museum. The restoration quality of there trains is next to none. The selection of trains is very special. The most special is the (McKeen Motor Car # 22) only surviving running car on earth. This car is running and does take passengers on a short 1 mile ride. The staff is great and very informative. Thanks for your aloha.

It's a good looking building set in some lovely landscaping and has an important history as the historic capitol building of the whole state. Some interesting displays here of state history. School kids around.

We really enjoyed our first visit which also happened to be the first day of the season. The prospector was great! Enjoyed hearing the story from the host and the tour of the home. Would have liked to have learned why the third floor was removed and why in the cemetery the dates on the headstones and the spelling of the names of assumably the same people, are different.

Cemetery is a nice climb that affords a great view.

We have eaten at The Palm Court before and always have been satisfied. My wife had the Mongolian Beef and a bowl of Wanton soup. I had the Chef salad ,both were very good. Service provided by speedy Gonzales was very good . Yes we will be back.

The hike to the waterfall is 0.80 round trip. The waterfall is uphill. I would caution that as you get close to the waterfall, the ground is muddy and wet so plan your footwear accordingly

This spot on Tahoe has ahhhmazing breathtaking views, dog friendly beach access for everyone and is truly a hike to a hidden gem that you won't soon forget!! Skunk Harbor not only combines all of these wonderful attributes but also throws in a bit of history for you to check out too!

Parking is FREE but limited, located at a turnoff along HWY 28 about a few miles north of the Spooner/HWY 50 junction - look for an old green pipe gate which is also the entrance to the trailhead (do NOT park in front of gate, you WILL be fined). After you park, grab your gear (keep in mind there are NO facilities - take out what you take in). Travel along the old dirt road on the other side of the green gate through the Tahoe forest. When you reach the fork in the road you have 2 choices: left fork leads to Prey Meadows which is blanketed with many varieties of wildflowers in the spring anddd right fork leads you to Skunk Harbor.

Throughout your hike down to Skunk Harbor take in the breathtaking picture worthy views all around. Upon your arrival to the beach be sure to find the historical remants of an old railroad ramp used to supply timber to Virginia City after the Comstock Lode plus an abandoned stone house along the waters edge with historical markers from the 1920s that belonged to the wealthy family of George Newhall built as a summer house here for vacations and parties. Everything was brought in by boat, during the Roaring Twenties ~ WOW!!

This is a MUST DO!! Hike is roughly 3 miles round trip, I always enjoy an adventure / hike with a reward at the end, Skunk Harbor not only has this throughout but pays off at the end. Be prepared for a bit of workout on the way back out as it is uphill and can be exposed depending on time and season/weather. So bring plenty of H20 and take your time but this hidden gem is worth it!!

I stopped here for some information about the region and the city and left with all I needed to know what there is to see and do. Plus they had info on places to stay and places to eat. Helpful.

The cultural center is a small buidling housing a museum, researcj center, and gift shop on the grouind of the Stewart Indian Institute. The exhibits are well done with visual/auditory embellishment. Buit the most important port of a visit here is to see the efforts made, in the spirit of assimilation and acculturation, to eliminate the cultures of indigenous peoples. It is sad and uplifting. I note also that it was an unrecognized woman who transformed the Stewart Indian School from a "penal" institute to a "schoo;l" in the late 1930's The thoughtful display of experiences and ideas deserve a visit from anyone with concerns to making a difference in today's society. We must not let this experience fade away. Plus the grounds are lovely and very hospitable to a picnic lunch.

The Governorā€™s Mansion is oddly set in a residential neighborhood with typical middle class houses nearby. It seemed way too fancy to be among these much more humble abodes. I am reading reviews raving about the grounds which must have been at a different time of year. In the early spring when we were there the flower beds could have used mulching and trash needed picking up.

Road trip! Our 46th state capitol! This complex consists of the original Capitol and the new legislative building. They werenā€™t any tours available but the self guided tour was good. All of the staff and security guards were friendly and helpful.
