What travelers are saying
- WantItGoodFerndown, UK77 contributionsWe were lucky that our holiday cottage included free entry to this house and gardens. We visited on a windy day well into September, which meant that the extensive gardens weren't looking their absolute best but were still full of interest and colour. It was very, very quiet when we turned up but this belies the fact that there is a tea room serving nice drinks, snacks and lunches and more importantly some extremely knowledgeable room guides who made the house really interesting. They seemed genuinely interested in the house and its history, so you'd think they were there just for you - that's professional. Do make sure you check opening times to avoid disappointment - we returned a few days later and found that the house itself was closed and the tea room was self-service.Written September 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - steven wLeeds, UK217 contributionsIt is not every day that you are shown around a 14th century farmhouse by a Russian Princess, and this was the best tour of our visit to Kent. Olga Romanov was most welcoming, funny, frank and gave us two hours of insight into her life and the lives of her parents and grandparents who escaped the revolution. The history is fascinating, as is how she is preserving the farmhouse for the future. Tours need to be booked and are only on some days. Well worth the visit.Written September 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gary6 contributionsFantastic lovely historic property. Poppy was very knowledable about the building and gave a brilliant introduction to the building. The museum really pieces together the story od Ospringe and its significance in the medieval era, and medieval Kent.
The price was only £4 and we'll worth every penny. Engaging for all audiences.Written May 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are 2 mill races and 3 grind stones visible. It is quite hard to find though being sited within a housing estate - or more correctly housing having been allowed to impinge right upon it. I believe there is significant information available when the mill is open.Written March 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cherriesfan99Cheltenham, UK849 contributionsVery attractive (but closed) white building on , appropriately on Faversham's Market Place. The 17th century civic Guildhall with its open ends is such an appealing building, and with its open air market makes for a real gem. The poster building for this gentile Kentish town.Written October 29, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
