We we're blessed by seeing this building and its gardens in a guided free tour which is organised every weekend by the municipality. We discover a place with an amazing history, initially an aristocratic palace passed by Noble family to another through marriages, to end as a nuns house at the end of 19th century, by them transformed into a girls' school.
It is now own by a local bank, which is using it for conferences and by the Biella music academy. Not to be missed the Italian gardens.

Having been to Biella many times I was pleasantly surprised by the Museo MACIST. Definitely something to check out if you find yourself in the city of Biella. A great mix of art and something for every taste.

We were taken here as part of a tour or would otherwise not come across it. But it was a very interesting experience. We had not been exposed to the art of Michelangelo Pisoletto and found it fascinating, in particular the Mirror Paintings, and the way the viewer and surroundings become part of the art and the impact of changing perspectives. But the other aspects of the centre including the interiors and projects were also of interest. Very enjoyable visit.

Not all days have perfect weather and sometimes one can be amused by routine diversions. Such is the case with Gli Orsi. From the charming bear motif, (bollards, sculptures, signage) through to a broad mix of shops this is a good shopping centre. Prices are roughly comparable with the U.K. and sometimes a little more for more fashionable items such as training shoes. The attached fuel station is one of the cheaper in town.

Reserve an hour of your time when passing by Biella to visit this wonderful place. Authentic painted rooms and some extraordinary portraits. Looking out over a very beautiful garden. The guided tour is a must with an eloquent gentleman, fluent in French, English and Italian.

Lovely church particularly interesting for its decoration. It has been decorated in a very poor way, in the sense paint has been used to try and imitate more intricate churches.
