Parking can be a challenge but it’s worth the effort! The ticket-seller announced the tour would be “in Italian,” with printouts for English speakers. But once within the confines of the well-maintained tower she not only presented a passionate account of the site’s history for her fellow Italians, but also translated into English for visitors. (She didn’t have to do this! But we were grateful that she did: our visit to Castello di Serralunga d'Alba gave us greater understanding of the surrounding region and the country that eventually emerged.

When you envision what you'd like an ideal wine-tasting experience in Piedmont to be, enter Tenuta Cucco. We went to several, but this was easily the best. Their wines are simply sensational and Giovanni is the perfect host. The pours are generous and the knowledge shared invaluable. Coming here after Massolino was was illuminating, the difference, night and day. Had a bottle of their 2016 Barolo for our anniversary last night, it just doesn't get any better.

We enjoyed our visit to this winery. The history of the place and the tour of the cellars was extremely interesting. We also enjoyed the tasting at the end, which featured spumante and several other wines. if you are in the area and interested in wine, this is a very good stop.

We have been fans of Massolino for many years and visited the winery the last week of October 2023. Valentina was our host. She was very informative and passionate. We enjoyed the numerous wines we tried and the tour of the cellar was amazing. The overall facility is first class. It was also quite interesting to learn more about the family history and legacy in Serralunga d’ Alba.
We would highly recommend a visit here by any serious wine fan.

New apartments and clean place. However, the hotel provides ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICES. There is no room cleaning (towel change, bed making and bathroom cleaning, etc). The mattress on the beds is hard and horrible, with springs that make noise all night. Although they serve breakfast, there is no fruit or egg (all very common in hotels in Italy). We stayed in January/23 and there were only our 3 families in the hotel. Even so, they did not comply with our request to serve fruit and eggs in the cafe. Thinking about pleasing the guest without a chance…. The cafe attendant was totally rude and suspicious, asking for passports as if we were dishonest. Furthermore, the location is terrible. Far from the cities, a secluded place with nothing around (only very close to Fontanafredda). In short, very expensive for the very little it offers (86 euros per room per day).
    I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We had a very nice lunch here after visiting the Rivet Winery nearby. We ate on the outside patio which overlooked the winery we just visited. We each had a lovely pasta dish and shared a bottle of their Barbera. Perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful weather!

We got a small round tour and a tasting of 5 wines.Small company and the wife of the family showed us around. She was maybe a little bit busy so she took the time to answer our questions but also gave us time to just sit and taste ourself when she was doing other things. It cost 15 € per person, but if you buy wine afterwards the tasting was for free. When we asked about their philosophy they said something like "they want to make wine that shows the character of Nebbiolo and the terroir, without to much impact of for example the wooden barrels".

Just down the road from Fontanafredda is this little gem. The tasting is a great lesson in wine history and production, the property interesting and some very nice wines. Complete opposite of Fontanafredda corporate machine.

This is the center of the religious community in Serralunga. It was built between 1886 and 1888 at the same site where was the old parish church of San Benigno had stood. San Benigno was demolished to make room for the new church

The decorations are almost entirely attributed to the painter Alba Fedele Finati. In the apse is a painting of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament of Sebastian. On the central altar there is a wooden table carved with two Franciscan saints who worship the Crucified Christ.

The floor has marble with a pattern that makes it look like wood.
