- JenanJamalKuwait City, Kuwait1,971 contributionsI went there to see one of the famous things in Portugal. I rent a car with a driver to take me from Lisbon. He explained the history of this holy place. but unfortunately it was shower (rain)
I enjoyed the place!Written March 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You'll be in and out in under 15 minutes because the dwelling is so small, but it was very cool to see. If you're in Fatima, definitely stop by.Written October 21, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- tinaNtravelSan Jose, CA2,011 contributionsThis is where Holy Mary appeared to the children on Aug 19th. There is a statue of Holy Mary in the place surrounded by fields with olive trees and cork trees. Continue walking and you’ll reach the spot where the angel of peace appeared to the children 1 out of 3 times. This is where the angel gave the children the Eucharist. There is a statue of the angel and children. You can also see the Stations of the Cross along the walk. The area is very peaceful and awe inspiring. Out of place, but it might come in handy: There is a large restroom building along this walk.Written August 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Patty BNashville, TN1,472 contributionsWe were impressed with this this lovely open structure. It is really beautiful.
We visited just before Easter and watched the people lighting very large candles just outside this
Church. The smoke was unbelievable but never seemed to enter this open structure.
A divine intervention perhaps.
This entire area is worth exploring. It wasn’t too hot when we visited in April, but summer would need a hat or umbrella as there is a lot of walking outside without much protection from the sun.Written July 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The House of Lucia is tiny (as one would expect) but provides a depth of insight into the life of Lucia and her family. It is worth walking down to the well where the Angel of Portugal appeared to the children (2nd apparition) which is a pleasant, quite spot conducive to contemplation.Written October 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eva TUnited Kingdom1,393 contributionsWhen we saw it from distance I questioned what "bunker is built here" because of its concrete exterior. But going inside was - WOW! I saw many modern churches but this is something else - and I have to say I don't very much like modern churches. This Basilica is modern but beautiful, utterly functional with benches for around 9 thousand people. The only decoration inside is behind the altar which is magnificent golden/bronze mosaic. We entered from the side which is directly opposite the old (main) Basilica. It's also impressive, there is sound of running water, the wall is decorated with bronze plates with various images related to Catholic religion/Bible, the doors are huge and beautiful. Both me and my husband (who isn't religious person like I am) said this is beautiful. We have to congratulate the architects.Written May 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Facing many skeptics, the children asked Mary for a miracle - we experienced the miracle of Oct 13th appearance in 3D theatre.Written April 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SoCalOregonianMurrieta, CA10,390 contributionsThe parish church where the three children were baptized between March 1907 and March 1910. In the courtyard in front of the church are statues of Jacinta and Francisco. Inside is the font in which the children were baptized along with commemorative plaques. It is just a short drive from the sanctuary complex to this church, but it is very quiet. When we visited, we were the only people in the church.Written May 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tinaNtravelSan Jose, CA2,011 contributionsThe museum is downstairs from the large Cathedral. You’ll find the stairs near the entrance to the Cathedral. Note that the Cathedral is the round shaped building on the opposite side of the Sanctuary as the magnificent Basilica. The museum is larger than it looks from the outside. I was surprised how large it was. Items worth noting is the original crown of the statue of Holy Mary in the Apparition chapel. That crown is used on special Feast and Holy Days, otherwise a replica is used. If you look closely at the crown, you’ll find a bullet on the top, under the aqua colored ball. This was the bullet that shot John Paul 2. He was shot on the 13th, the anniversary of one of the apparitions. When he travelled to Turkey to forgive his shooter he told him, you are a great shot, but you picked the wrong day. The other item which is rather curious since it is well protected is a piece of wood. Back in 1922, someone tried to blow up the apparition chapel. The door and roof were damaged but not the rest. The sliver of wood is from the original door. There is quite a bit more to see as well.Written August 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tinaNtravelSan Jose, CA2,011 contributionsThis is one of the sites where the Angel of Peace appeared to the children and gave them the Eucharist as well as taught them a prayer. (The other place is in the garden area behind Sr. Lucia’s house.) It is a very peaceful location as is the entire walk to this spot. You will also pass the location where Mary appeared to the children on Aug 19th.Written August 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
