- Janjust16Budapest, Hungary904 contributionsOut of this world- medieval 🏰. Were we transported to medieval time- what!!!
Well preserved- cobblestones, romantic streetsWritten February 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Glad we did, because it was really awesome. The town of obidos and the larger surrounding wall walk are great too, but you dont want to miss the castle itself.Written December 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WanderLSPCharlotte, NC452 contributionsDon't forget to look up while walking through the front gate to see the beautiful tiles. There were musicians playing too.Written November 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GoPlaces996812 contributionsSo peaceful and complete contrast to the village. Great paths to walk along and kite surfers to watch.Written September 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WanderLSPCharlotte, NC452 contributionsThe inside of this church is quite beautiful. You can walk in for free and it just takes a few minutes.Written November 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AniramBournemouth, UK10 contributionsWonderful Medieval market with local cuisine. Must try queijadas (Portuguese tarts with different variations of flavours: carrot/Almond/milk)
Amazing food and entertainment.
Great event for kids and grown-ups.Written August 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Along the way there are store front stands selling "Licor de Ginja d'Obidos" which is Obidos' cherry liqueur served in an edible chocolate cup. When we visited, the stands closer to the main gate were selling each for €1.50 and the place was mobbed. Further down the road, the price dropped to €1.00 with far fewer people. There are two WC's on this road. When we visited, the one closer to the main gate was closed. So the WC closer to the town square has a long line for the ladies. As we strolled down the road, the whitewashed houses with bright blue and/or yellow trims make for a very photogenic image of a medieval village.Written June 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA16,858 contributionsIt looks a little stark on the outside, but inside it is decorated and typically Portuguese. Not always open. Check for times. It's on a pretty square with lots of people around.Written January 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - phuttyTallinn, Estonia1,404 contributionsJust outside the town walls you'll find this very well preserved aqueduct, which makes for some dramatic and memorable photos.Written September 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - phuttyTallinn, Estonia1,404 contributionsThis church no longer functions as one, but has been redesigned as a very impressive book store that's well worth a visit - if not for the books (the vast majority of which are of course in Portuguese) then for the remodelling and the unique combination of bookstore and church!Written September 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael K995 contributionsThere is not much to see in Obidos itself. The main attractions are the Obidos Village and the castle with the town wall which completely encloses the village. Even the bus from Lisbon stops near the main gate of Obidos Village. Inside Obidos Village, most whitewashed houses with bright blue and/or yellow trims make for a very photogenic image of a medieval village. The castle itself has been turned into an expensive hotel, but the town walls that extend from the castle encompass the entire village and are freely accessible. Whether on the town walls or at ground level, you can always find a spot with impressive views of the castle and the town walls with the Obidos Village.Written June 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
