What travelers are saying
- Natysya van WeesAmsterdam, The Netherlands12 contributionshis is a must-visit place in Portugal. I fell in love with its pure beauty, powerful energy, and rich history, but visiting the place without a guide is nearly impossible due to the lack of public transport and poor informational signage. Fortunately, I had the pleasure of taking a guided tour with Natalia Portugalia Tours. I highly recommend this tour company.
P.S.: If you have more time, don't miss the opportunity to take a small hike to see the dinosaur footprints.Written May 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever stepped foot on. Period.Written September 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - alittletoolateDoncaster, UK3,078 contributionswhile it's quite a tough uphill walk to the castle from the beach you'll more not than not find a short cut up via quite a lot of steps.
there's no doubt you get some great views walking the outer walls but it was the inside of the church with it's tiled walls that impressed me the most.
you will also find a nice cafeteria and toilets inside the castle walls.Written December 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. With its golden sands, clear waters, and serene atmosphere, it's the perfect place for relaxation. The sunsets are truly breathtaking. A must-visit for any beach lover.

You can rent chairs near the hotel. One shade and 2 chairs is $20 Euro for the day.Written August 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marylene SMaputo, Mozambique588 contributionsIf you want to escape the beaches of Sesimbra, the Lagoa de Albufeira is the right option, even more so if you have kids. The place is secure, the water is calm and the visibility is perfect. If you want to practice some sports, it is also ideal. The environment is attractive. But if you have a choice, try to go in low season as the place tend to be packed with families and parking is a serious problem!Written June 9, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Suzy M12 contributionsVery nice beach, lots of restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlours nearby. I was there in June and it wasn't too crowded.Written June 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Joolz M14 contributionsWow what a great find for a picnic spot after visiting Cabo Espichel - lava flow beach with sandy strip for sunbathing - dramatic waves and very strong current don’t recommend going in the sea although a few locals were brave enough to take a quick dip to cool off!! Loadsa rock pools amongst the lava for crab spotting - wear sturdy shoes - easy walk from car park right by beachWritten August 21, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME8,609 contributionsI went to this church a few times because it was right near our villa. Hearing its bells toll was wonderful. It's a simple little church, stark on the outside but the interior walls are covered in blue and white tiles depicting the life of the Virgin Mary.Written December 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MJS77yoLondon, UK23 contributionsNice and clean and when we visited, on a Friday, it was near deserted without a handful of other couples dotted widely apart along the beach. The sea was a little too rough to venture in as it was a windy day but the beach was perfect otherwise. We didn't venture far from the steps but we didn't see any shops or vendors on the beach itself. I'd advise you plan ahead and bring snacks and drinks. However there is a nice restaurant at the top of the steps if you need a drink or toilet (takes a while though to use the steps though and I imagine it would be quite a chore if it was busy).Written September 16, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RLFSesimbra, Portugal15 contributionsThis is my go to place with my kids. It's perfect for kids of all ages, with plenty different areas to keep them busy and hapily entertained. Very well maintained with lush green grass and plenty of shade, it's the perfect place all year round and an amazing alternative to the beach to spend the day on hot summer days. It's got well maintained bathrooms for small kids and adults, and several water fountains throughout the park. Really really thankful for this amazing investment made by the cityWritten September 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
