What travelers are saying
- Gypsy Girl 425Georgetown, TX288 contributionsWe toured the Badia with a personal guide and one of the priests that resides there and it was an incredible experience!
We toured the catacombs built 1,000 years ago and saw the beautiful paintings and artifacts they have collected. It was worth every minute we spent there!Written October 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's lined with lovely mansions and two stunning rows of porticoed walking paths . So many interesting shops, cafes and restaurants.
You'll also find the helpful Tourist Office here and they provided a great map and leaflets.
Blissfully crowd free and tourist free.
Then walked up to lovely Piazza San Francesco for more coffee and views of the other Basilica and Convent.
The train station (only 10 mins to Salerno) is at the other end of town but it gave me the opportunity of another scenic stroll through the 'Borgo'.
If you are a 'walker', then from June to September on every second Sunday of the month, you can join 'Itinerari d'Ambiente' - 3 hour walks which start from here and follow the ancient roads and hills.Written May 30, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Venice BeachScottsdale, AZ98 contributionsWonderful hotel in fabulous location located near an 11th century church. Great staff welcomes you to their facility. - vessi80North Lanarkshire, UK1,080 contributionsHad a great tour of the famous abbey in Corpo de Cava (Badia) in the morning and the return bus dropped me off very near this beautiful square.
Visited the cathedral first just before it closed and then had coffee, relaxed and soaked up the atmosphere in this beautiful part of the town before exploring the famous 'Borgo' district.Written May 30, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas OzbunVicenza, Italy984 contributionsA church that has a nice renaissance/baroque facade and bell tower but is quite unadorned and modern inside since it was mostly destroyed during an earthquake in the 1980s.Written December 17, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
