There are three airports in the Barcelona area.
Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN) is the area’s primary airport, and is located about 12 km southwest of the city. The airport is a hub for Iberia Regional and Vueling, and a mini-hub for Air Europa, Iberia, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Ryanair. Dozens of airlines fly from the airport, offering non-stop flights to destinations within Spain, elsewhere in Europe, Africa, Asia, North America and South America.
Girona–Costa Brava Airport (GRO) is located about 90 km north of Barcelona. Several low-cost carriers, including Ryanair and Wizz Air, serve the airport. Flights are available to domestic and international destinations in Europe and North Africa.
Reus Airport (REU) is located about 100 km northeast of Barcelona. The airport is served by about 10 carriers, including Flybe, Jet2.com, Ryanair and Thomson Airways.
Thanks to the presence of low-cost carriers at BCN, GRO and REU, Barcelona-area travelers can take advantage of inexpensive airfares to a host of destinations. Vueling, for example, flies to destinations including Madrid, Palma de Mallorca and Amsterdam. Ryanair flies to cities including Sevilla, London and Marrakesh. EasyJet offers flights to destinations including Paris, London and Milan.
When searching for cheap flights, ensure that your search includes Barcelona, Girona and Reus airports, and all available airlines.
