It was a long-planned return to a lovely and friendly hotel where we used to stay with our three children twice when the kids were really young. We had a fantastic time then so we thought to go back and have the same experiance. So we did it last week-end and it was worth doing it! The hotel was the same or even better! Everyone was kind and friendly, the catering was superb, so this hotel is definitely one of our best holiday accommodations! Thank you, Das Eisenberg!

We attended a conference at Das Eisenberg and stayed in #6 in the Landhaus. This "room" was bigger than many apartments I have lived it. It had a full kitchen, balcony, living room and dining room, spacious bedroom, walk-in closet, and bath. The view off the balcony to the valley behind was beautiful. The breakfast was outstanding with a wide variety of hot and cold food, local products, and an assortment of delicious, fresh breads. The staff was helpful and friendly and the entire hotel was extremely clean. It is enjoyable to go hiking in the woods, but the trails are not as well marked in the woods as they might be. We attempted to hike to the Dreilaendereck where Austria, Hungary, and Slovenia come together, but at one point the sign in the woods directed us in the wrong direction. We hope to visit here again.

I have just returned from Eisenberg. It was a company event, the hotel was excellent. Super friendly staff, super service. My room was small, but nice and spotless. The hotel has great views, and also a spectacular pool. Breakfast is to die for.

What a wonderful stay! Fantastic breakfast, helpful staff, nice A/C room and what a beautiful setting! In the Austrian countryside w/ a cool breeze and a lovely pool. Very nice spa facilities overlooking the vineyards and hills of Austria. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, it is just beautiful!

... something very special - but it offers quite an average choice of rooms, food and drinks. The situation is wonderful, in the middle of a typical South-Burgenland countryside. A lot of possibilities to go for a shorter or longer walk - just out and starting right from the hotel. The service is a bit stiff and not too attentive or friendly. Compared to the Hotel Raffel in Jennersdorf a bit too expensive. So stay in the Raffel and drive to the Eisenberg for a drink before or after some walks.

I was glad to have discovered this hotel and sorry that I did not stay longer. In this part of Austria very little English is spoken but all of the staff at the hotel spoke excellent English and they were all friendly and helpful. The food was first class and the breakfast to die for. A huge variety of home made breads, jams, cheese, ham, three types of honey, four yogurts, 12 teas - the list is endless. Bedrooms were spacious, comfortable and pristinely clean. As was the swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Close to the borders of both Slovenia and Hungary (just seven kilometres away) if you find yourself in this part of Austria then this is the place to stay. You will want to have a hire car as the area is remote. I attended a wedding here and they really do know how to deal with functions. This is a four star hotel with five star food and six star staff.

We spent a couple of days at the Das Eisenberg as we were attending a wedding here. The food and facilities at this hotel was fantastic. We experienced two amazing dinners here. The food on the wedding day was amazing, the staff were brilliant. The pool area is great, very relaxing and the view from the pool is great. The gym facilities in this hotel were excellent, one of the best I have experienced while on holiday. The only criticism I could give this place is the lack of air conditioning in some of the rooms. Staff were very good and gave us a portable air con unit. Highly recommend this place.

Beautiful location and lovely hotel. Especially loved the pool which was deserted in the morning and pure bliss. Food was lovely and great wine cellar. You would definitely want to hire a car if you stayed here as it is a long drive out of Vienna.

We stayed 7-12 July, 2016, B&B terms. This is an immaculately restored and developed small "resort" in a corner of Austria which was previously struggling because it was so close to the Iron Curtain. There is a main building, containing a spa (which we did not try, it being summer) and an eternity pool (which we certainly did try, every day). There are two separate buildings connected by beautifully landscaped gardens. We selected Eisenberg initially because it is dog-friendly; it has its own dog park. For this reason we also asked for a room in the Landhaus opening out on to the garden. The room was very large and comfortable. However Burgenland gets hot in summer, it was 33 on the day before we left, so I think they will have to install aircon. Both the main building and the wooden house do have it. However we knew this in advance and must go on to say that everything else was great. A brilliant breakfast selection includes local honeycomb; we had dinner three times too, and the cooking was to a high standard. Staff generally strike the right note, professional and friendly. Definitely recommended.

The location of Eisenberg is a little out of the way but once you are there you don't need to leave anymore anyway, so it does not matter. The food is amazing, breakfast is unbelievable with a huge amount of choiche...the restaurant also has a great menu for lunches or romantic dinners. Oh and there is a complementary cake buffet in the afternoon. It is super peaceful, if you are more of the active kind you can go cycling (free bike hire) or hiking or swimming in their lovely pool. The rooms - especially in Landhaus and Romantikstadl are lovely - if you can afford it pay a little more for those. Some of the rooms in the main house are a bit smaller but you don't really spend much time there anyway apart from sleeping. The spa area is lovely and the range of treatments they offer is great! The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and go out of their way to make your stay perfect...we will be back!
