Barnsley, United Kingdom334 contributions177 helpful votesBefore you read any further I have to say that we rarely give 5 stars for accommodation but Bo18 Superior is a little gem of a hotel and we had a totally great stay in Budapest. Yes it’s a little off the beaten track being on the edge of the inner city and the area is very quiet (which isn’t really a bad thing if you want to escape city noise at night), but it’s very close to transport links and a just an 18 minute walk from the ruin bars and perhaps a little closer to some of the other city centre attractions. There’s also a shopping centre a stone’s throw from the hotel.
Our comfortable and modern room was really well sized with windows that actually opened and plenty of storage space, a large wall mounted tv, tea and coffee tray, safe and mini bar and a good sized bathroom with bath and shower and lovely soft towels (although these could have been larger). Our room was opposite the lift and we thought that we’d be bothered by noise but we weren’t at all, we weren’t even aware that there were people in the next room; such is the beauty of old buildings!
Breakfast was really good, they catered very well for my gluten and dairy allergies with warm, fresh gluten free baguettes and coconut milk (gluten free cereal and soya yoghurts were also available) and everything was good quality and always fresh. Sparkling wine was available every morning and at weekends a chocolate fountain.
The communal areas were modern, stylish and quirky with a small library, entertainment corner for children and a cosy bar area. There was also a free spa/fitness area which, although we didn’t use, looked great – we were planning to use it but just ran out of time. Even the small smoking area outside the front of the hotel was heated and had a couple of seats. Everywhere was immaculately clean and well presented.
Now let’s talk about the staff; they were all superb and from start to finish were helpful, courteous, polite and very accommodating, especially in the dining room – thank you. We felt very welcome and valued as guests.
We always judge a hotel by value v experience and both agreed that the hotel was excellent value for money, gave us everything we needed on our 4 night stay in the city and since there was absolutely nothing we could find fault with we had to give it 5 stars. We will be back to Budapest, there’s no doubt of that because it’s such a vibrant and amazing city and although we never stay in the same place twice because we like to see different aspects of a city, we would definitely consider returning here and have no problem in recommending it to others especially if you’re on a budget and want a first class stay.

Genuinely a lovely hotel! I'm not going to lie I didn't have high hopes for this one, even though the reviews were good you just don't know until you step foot inside whether it's actually going to be good. We stayed for 3 nights and we arrived well before our check-in time. The staff were so lovely and accommodating, they let us know it will be a little longer for us to wait because they were still cleaning but they led us into a cosy nook in the foyer where there was plenty of snacks and coffee/tea to be had while we waited. The rooms were a good size and nice and warm, but if it did get too hot the GIANT windows could be opened to let in some cool air. The room was very clean and had the usual amenities inc good fast wifi, which is usually hard to find in a hotel!
Also, have to shout out the free breakfast, it wasn't massively extensive but it had delicious fresh food (usually eggs are a hard pass for me, but they were delicious here), they even had baked beans on one of the days! Extremely attentive staff and all the coffee you could want, I really cant complain!
The only 'con' I would give the hotel Is its proximity to the main tourist attractions, some of the more popular ones being a 40 min walk or a short tram ride away. HOWEVER, the cabs are extremely reasonable so if you didn't fancy figuring out the public transport, you could easily grab one and be at your chosen location in a very short time. We went when the city was clearly in off-peak season so it was easy to get about quickly!

Great hotel for a short city break! Stayed here for 4 nights in December, heating in room very good heats up quick, very clean and tidy, when we arrived it was late at night so we were very happy to see a big bottle of water in the room that you’re able to pay for at the end. Beds super comfy, shower temperature and pressure was great. We didn’t find ourselves in the room very much but was very impressed by Netflix being available on the tv when we were! Staff so friendly and helpful at reception. The little shop downstairs is such a good idea and so easy just to grab a drink or snack when coming in from a day out etc. We also had breakfast included which was all delicious and lovely juices and coffees which made a very good start to the day! We also left for the airport very early on our last day and were given a little breakfast package which we thought was such a great touch and have never had that anywhere we’ve stayed before. Location was fab we managed to walk to most places but anywhere else was only about 15 mins in a taxi max. Overall a great hotel, couldn’t fault it and the friendly staff really made us feel so welcome.

First of all I’d like to say that the staff at the Bo18 are an absolute credit to the hotel, their service to second to none and it was wonderful that they always had a smile on their face and happy to help with anything needed. They provided us with helpful information to get around Budapest, where all the sights are, and recommendations even for good food in the area!
Our room was lovely, spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. One of the great things we had was a smart TV, which we don’t usually get back home so this was great.
The location is very walkable to the centre, perhaps a 15 - 20 min easy stroll, or there are very good transport links if you don’t want to walk. It’s close to plenty of amenities.
Would recommend to anyone thinking to stay here!

Perfect stay in this hidden gem. Staff very welcoming and helpful, service with a smile. Breakfast was plentiful and very enjoyable, especially with a glass of champagne to start the day! My room was very clean and comfortable, kettle, tea and coffee and mini bar in fridge if wanted. Bathroom included a walk in shower and added bonus of a hairdryer. Lovely quiet room (105) great night's sleep. This hotel has lots more to offer! Very close and easy access to trams, buses and metro. to enable you to discover the amazing sites of Budapest.

Myself and my partner stayed in this lovely hotel for 3 nights. First of all the staff are top class, always so friendly and welcoming. They stored our bags while we waited for our room to be ready, as we arrived too early for check in. The rooms were really lovely. Comfortable, clean and warm. Also, the beds were made daily with fresh bed sheets. The breakfast was nice too, with all the food being fresh and tasty. The location was great, with taxis to the city centre and main attractions only costing approx €5. The jacuzzi area was a nice way to relax in the evening. The “mini market” in the reception area was so handy after a busy day or night. Overall, this hotel was clean, comfortable and friendly. Thank you to the staff at BO18 for making our trip to Budapest so great!

This is a really nice hotel, I thought it was better than three stars.
The rooms are a decent size with spacious bathroom/toilet facilities and a comfortable bed. There is a mini bar and TV with many channels. I found that it was quiet and in a location really handy for most things you would want to see, but not so close as to be too much. Corvin Plaza and tram lines are nearby along with some decent bars and restaurants. It is an excellent place to use as a base to explore Budapest outwith the very centre.
The staff are very helpful. They were very informative and professional all through our stay and are very good ambassadors for the hotel. It is a really nice hotel with angreat welcome.

Hotel clean with comfortable beds and good shower. Breakfast lovely.
Air con is switched off until April. If you are warm at night and need to have the windows open it can be quite noisy with early morning bin collection and deliveries if your room is facing the front.
Located slightly off the beaten track but walkable to main attractions if you are relatively fit. Public transport links available.
Staff generally helpful, although one member of the reception staff was quite abrupt when I tried to investigate the luggage storage facilities.
Good value.
