Receptionist are very kind and helpful. I liked how close the tram stop was but it’s noise during the evening especially could be very frustrating. Tidiness was another issue, I saw a pretty big stain on one of the mattresses, the steep stairs that lead up to the bed area were very narrow also, I wouldn’t recommend it for someone with weak knees or the elderly. The shared kitchen and living room area is okay. The living room is comfortable, the kitchen on the other hand is very poor. No paper towel, one dirty pan, one small plate, a cup that’s not the cleanest. The best was the bathroom. Clean, excellent atmosphere, the rooms atmosphere are also really good in my opinion. I asked for a double bed, but I got two single ones. I would stay here again, it’s perfectly fine if you only go there to sleep and wind down.

This hotel is in the centre of Szeged, location is excellent. During weekdays problem can be to find parking place if come to hotel by the car. Rooms are clean and facilities are also very good. Food in restaurant is tasty... If you arrive in this hotel in the night or evening, they will send you message how to pick up keys of the room...

It was a pleasent one-night stay. The room were adapted for having bathroom each of them, so the beds are upstairs. It's quite interesting and novel.Bothe the rooms and the bedrooms were clean and so was the kitchen. We didn't used the kitchen, we preferred the breakfest from hotel, which was quite good. The hotel has a great position, near the centre of town. I liked this stay and I would come again here.

We booked this hotel to be near the University Hospital. It was listed no. 2 but we should have read beyond first few reviews. Positives: Ideally located in heart of city, with secure parking at €5pd - a gift in a city center. A modernized period building with "POD" bedrooms. Spotlessly clean with one very friendly reception staff member. Very reasonable priced. Positives exhausted - following comments made under two headings Management and Structure. The hotel is devoid of Management. First problem room safe didn't work. We had cash in excess 2m forinth so we ended up paying the hospital prior to admission. We ordered double bed but twin beds in room. Told by reception to "push them together" . On retiring we discovered bed linen and pillow for only one bed. The "sleeping area" not a bedroom, was unbearably hot. Reception told us to adjust the A C by the window, we did and did again but absolutely no change in temperature when gauge at 30deg. or Zero!!!. We couldn't open window (first floor) because of the cash in the room. It got worse in the Morning. The worst breakfast offering in 40years of travel between the 37th and 89th latitude... only Barentsburg on the ice cap on a par! We were in dining room one hour before breakfast finishing time(9.00am Sunday). No fruit except few tired oranges, 3 pot warm yoghurt, one cereal, 3 slices of rubberized cheese(shared with my wife) and a very small corner of what was once scrambled egg baked to a serving dish. I reverted to bread and marmalade(my wife went without), to discover the waitress, who had been in hiding throughout, advised me to wait while she got some bread. I had to wait as it had to be baked. I then had to go orienteering to the basement of the hotel to tell the elusive waitress the coffee machine was not working. She arrived , inspected and fetched a jug of water to refill. We waited while it boiled. Luckily marmalade doesnt go cold!!! We gave breakfast a total miss next morning. I ventured return the following morning at 7.00am(breakfast start time). Nothing prepared. No sign of staff. Then one arrives with a few apples and oranges and another with scrambled eggs and 7.15am boiled eggs some cracked. I asked for cooked bacon, which to be fair when it eventually arrived was very acceptable. i then discovered the coffee machine from Sunday morning(now tuesday) had disappeared. No hot drink capability. When a waitress eventually appeared I asked for Americano and was given expresso. Be greatful!. I went to the basement to see if I could find waitress to get a coffee top up but failed to see any human life. I went orienteering and Horrah!! I discover the elusive coffee machine in a conference room set up for a meeting. Obviously one coffee machine for all areas of the hotel and conference attendees take precedence over paying overnight guests. Poor poor breakfast took 50 minutes. The other 12 guests who arrived for breakfast left without any hot drink. On Structure. The bedroom is on two levels. In the sleeping area over the bathroom it is not possible for a dwarf pigmy to stand upright. You must crawl into bed. The access stairs is very narrow, I guess 50% of normal, with no handrail to prevent falling back on to lower floor. The health and safety certificate must make interesting reading. This review was written on the plane last June on our way home but only managed to get the time to transcribe my contemporaneous notes now

We left the hotel earlier because of these: - parking is not easy but it is also not included - the room was not perfectly clean when we arrived - the kitchen was not equipped (no spoon, fork, etc.) - you cannot contact the receptionist, neither via phone, nor directly at the place - the breakfast not included despite of this forgettable - housekeeping not arrived first day - housekeeping not arrived second day Then we changed our place to Hotel Tiszavirág...

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The staff were very professional and nice, the room was always kept clean, quite comfortable and right in the heart of town. There is no parking on site, but there is a parking house a few hundred meters away from the premises. I would recommend this establishment and look forward for my next stay there.

Beautiful hotel in a great location . This hotel should have better reviews . Neat, clean and spacious rooms with excellent beds, with a choice of two types of pillows at additional hardness and small pillow. Since often come to Szeged , we decided that we now make this hotel and it will not change . How in the center is great for walking and home . See you soon.

Hotel is marvelous and you should visit it. In the core centre old town. Rooms are big and spacious with a lot of room for working or what ever. 4 rooms together even have a living room and a kitchen. Very clean and neat. Staff is just very very good and helpful. If coming with a car call reception for instructions on free parking. Just be here when in Szeged.

Location is excellent as you are right in the middle of Szeged and next to the pedestrian area with the bars, cafes and restaurants. The hotel has a secure parking area a minute away. The star here is Benson on reception. He could not have been more helpful and friendly and he is a great asset to this hotel. The entrance and reception area are very welcoming, clean and tasty. My room was a bit odd as the bedroom was up 10 steep steps with a handrail only on the wall side. If you slip you are in for a very sore experience. I would not recommend this at all if you have weak legs/knees or are elderly. The beds are the usual two singles which I do not like. Being upstairs the bedroom is really small and tight. I did not like my room. However, nice clean bathroom. The sitting area on the ground level is nice and my room ,102, was overlooking the quieter (although there was a lot of noise from revellers until 02.00) pedestrian area. The other rooms overlook the main street and the trams start at 06.00. Breakfast was awful....see below and nowhere near good enough for a four star. It was rubbish. There was nobody at all in or near the breakfast room. This where management comes in to see the issues and fix them. The manager is also there to get whatever the guest needs and this wasn't done. So this is why I dropped a star and because it is not an average four star hotel. I would not stay again. My issues; The breakfast is awful and this is a big beef for me. It is as basic as you can get and more suitable for a one star hotel.....remember I am reviewing this as the claimed four star. Watery juice, rotten sour milk that nearly made me ill, pears that were also rotten, dreadful selection of pastries/croissants, no proper fruit, no black tea. (Earl Grey Hungary is NOT black tea as we know it because it is a flavoured tea with oil of bergamot. Breakfast tea is proper black tea) poor quality jams, basic breads, the toaster was broken and on the second day and the coffee machine (also for hot water) was broken. The milk and yoghurt also ran out. I asked for eggs on the first morning and they came like two rocks.....no one asked me how I wanted them cooked. The second day there was no one at all around to ask me did I want hot food. I did ask for fruit and black tea after the first day as this is really all I eat. I was merely offered apples and some grapes that were about to go bad and that was my fruit selection!! I was also told that as it was Sunday they could not buy tea....rubbish, absolute rubbish as all the small shops were open and I am sure the big supermarkets were open. You see this is a clear sign to me that there is a lack of care and consideration towards their guests. This does not go down well with me!!
