Conveniently located between the National Park Manuel Antonio and town, Quepos. I was on a tour and stayed at Hotel Mimos for two nights. Don't be fooled by the pictures!! The grounds, pool and the rooms of the hotel are very run down. The pools and chairs are dirty. It does not appear there has been any maintenance in decades and the maintenance that is done is cheap. Staff was unpleasant and the Manager was unprofessional. Shared a room with another traveler, we were given one towel each. No hand towels or face towels in the bathroom. No soap or shampoo. And to top all of that off there are cockroaches everywhere. Many travelers had cockroaches in their rooms and they were not small ones. The grounds of the hotel are also crawling with them at night. Food was expensive, portions very small and nothing special. I would not stay here again!!!

Mimos is a beautiful property, with a variety of rooms. We especially like rooms 22A, 23 and 24 (the Honeymoon Suite). I have lead a study abroad group to Costa Rica 5 times, and each time we have stayed at this hotel for 3-5 days. I like that the location puts us near, but not in Manuel Antonio. Being able to walk down the hill via Calle Vieja, instead of the main road is very nice. Alexa, at the front desk was very patient and helpful with our complicated group check in. This hotel has beautiful grounds that are well maintained, and beautiful rooms with a variety of types to choose from. Each time I have stayed, there has been a different restaurant at the hotel, as different owners rent the space. Rasta is the restaurant as of Jan 23, and they did an outstanding job. Please note that WiFi is intermittent in most rooms, but you can access it by the pool and restaurant area. During our stay, the pool water was starting to get a bit green, so some daily water quality checks are a good idea.…

We stayed 2-nights in a large room which was very clean. The restaurant staff were absolutely great, the morning staff brewed us some great tasting coffee. The afternoon staff were a very fun bunch of people and Lester was stellar - as he looked after us in every manner possible. He told me they made a great Hamburger their - and I have say it was one of the best we have ever had.... it was so fresh and so big.... the resident kitten was a little cutie as well... thank you folks

Bus stop to city center is right across the street. The hotel was comfortable, clean and practical. There is a child’s pool, regular pool and jacuzzi on site. Rooms are big with TV. Restaurant and bar are good. The passion fruit margarita was so good. I enjoyed my stay.

I was in Costa Rica for 9 days. This was the best hotel I stayed in during my trip. I had no reservation and availability was tight due to a holiday and the young man whose name I unfortunately can't remember squeezed me in. He lived on the premises with his charming family and always seemed to appear out of nowhere to give me whatever I needed. The accommodations were clean spacious and the staff was very friendly. Mi Amigo at Mimos I hope you see this and a shout out to you from the old guy with 2 young girls..one a red head.

Stayed 2 nights as part of a group tour. Liked that it is locally owned. Room was spacious. Nice balcony facing the street. Little noisy because faced busy street but someone in our group requested and was moved to a quieter spot. Lovely setting. Pool was nice. Breakfast just so so. Pretty good location. Was able to catch public transit within walking distance of national park. Plenty of restaurant options in the area.

No hanger, cups or glasses or safe key, had to ask for them. Only one electric outlet, ceiling fan very wobbly, one side of the closet would not open, sidewalks had big pot holes. The beef tenderloin at the restaurant was awful.

I ordered two portions and got exactly one: two cups of rice should make impression it's two portions, but there was no chease, so exactly one. When I protested, the staff (who doesn't speak english), tried to convience me it was two portions and charge me for that. Anyway, walls are so thin, you hear zipping a small toilet bag in next room and moving curtons sound like great storm/disaster. So, terrible!
