located next historic centre on south bank. clean and nice smelling room with comfortable though rather hard mattress. inviting lounge, friendly and efficient staff. book car parking place well in advance, otherwise a public underground parking at 200 meters. Breakfast buffet adequate for its price, OK. few healtful options near hotel.

This hotel is at the back of the main town shopping area and an easy walk to restaurants, covered market, park and river. It’s a smart looking place and the rooms look good too. At 9euros for 24 hours, the locked indoor parking 100 metres away is worth taking simply so your car isn’t at the mercy of parking in narrow town streets. The price is very reasonable at this season. Now the downside. The water pressure was very low on our room. It would be impossible to run a bath before it would become cold. The toilet took half an hour to be reflushed. The bottom sheet on bed, if that’s what it was, looked and felt like a mattress topper. Room was clean and tidy and I’d stay again (but ask for another bottom sheet).

I stayed in this hotel by mere accident, see? It's never good to be on the road (or should I say on the rails) to many days in a row. Well, I happened to take the wrong train in Barcelona and went north instead of south. I ended up 15-20 minutes later in Estacion de Francia, where 2 lovely ladies helped me get through this terrible moment. One of them suggested I stayed in Tortosa (69€/night) instead of Barcelona (200+€/night). It took 3 hours for the train to get there, and I only had a short 4 1/2 hour sleep, but even though I wasn't in the best mood, I couldn't find a flaw. Everything was spotless, the reception guy was very pleasing and they woke me up at the time I asked for, something not too common. Thank you guys, you were the highest point of my day.

Check in was fast and efficient, as a matter of fact I don’t even remember being checked in so fast in my entire life. September 3, 2019. The girl at the reception did not speak any English but she was very “dynamic” to call it the less. She even got on the road to stop the traffic for me so I can back up my car about 20 meters onto a one way street to turn around the corner where the parking is to avoid driving around the block. She gave us all the information, maps, suggestions for diner (Botanic, thank you!) and all that we needed to know about this wonderful town. Yes, the parking is not free and breakfast neither, but where else is? The day girl spoke English and a few other languages and she was as helpful as the previous girl. The hotel, as said, is 10 minutes walking to centre and 5 minutes to the train station. Also 5 minutes to one of the best (5) restaurants in town, Botanic. Remember this name ! Hotel is modern and extra clean, lots of pictures attached. good quality furniture, solid doors, nice firm beds, quiet AC. It has everything you need, Good Wi-Fi, fridge, flat screen TV and the last but not the least.. spotless bathroom with a lot of selection of shower gel, shampoo and soap. My room was quiet, it faced the rear, away from the main road with a nice view of te ruins of the old city wall and the old Seminary building on the top of the hill. Berenguer IV was an excellent option, thank you girls.

Fine hotel in central location, 10 min walk to the cathedral. Nice amenities, comfy bed, nice big shower room. However, thin walls and ceiling, so easily disturbed by other guests. Good for short term stay.

The Berenguer IV is centrally located in Tortosa, and offers travelers the ability to walk to many restaurants quickly. Location is the best part about this hotel. The rooms are fairly dated, but they are kept very clean. The mattress is on the firm side, but still comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful when needed. The rooms were very noisy and it's easy to hear conversation, people walking around, etc. from inside your room. Parking is not on site but around the corner in a garage that the front desk has to open for you. It can be a hassle at times. The hotel does offer a pretty good breakfast, but it's an additional charge.

Well positioned central hotel that is exactly that; well positioned! Older style decor but clean and tidy with good sized rooms and well equipped bathrooms. Staff helpful and English spoken. Breakfasts available. Stayed a few times now as also a very good price.

A nice clean hotel, a desk staff to dream of. The three lady, Ioana, Maria and Kasia. The friendliness you have, the business friendliness but there is also friendliness from a warm heart, but this is what you find here in this hotel. For this the hotel may be proud. Helping us out with our problems with a warm heart which is very refreshment in a world of unfriendlyness. Thank you ladies.

Hotel is located around the corner of the busier streets. The hotel is basic, like hotel chain. Beds are comfortable. Secured parking garage available. At the end of the street is a nice bar called ''Botenic'' that is bumping on Saturday evening.

My partner and I stayed here for one night as we were going to a wedding, and the hotel had a great location. As we arrived we had to wait roughly 15 min before anyone came to greet us. There was nobody around. When the receptionist finally came I was surprised by the lack of enthusiasm and friendliness. Not once did we get a smile. Our room was really great, though not very soundproof as we were able to hear our next door neighbours. Everything was clean, and we were given everything we needed. We forgot to buy a bottle of water when we got back from the wedding that night, but luckily there was a mini bar in the room. However, a small bottle of water was the same price as a 1L bottle from the shop, but I am fully aware that these are the normal hotel prices. The pillows were a bit uncomfortable to sleep on due to their hardness, and their very round, long shape, but it might just be a personal preference. All in all, we had a lovely stay, and I would probably stay here again, but there is room for improvement in regards to the service.
