Nutfield Priory Hotel & Spa garners appreciation from many guests for its well-maintained, historic charm and rich atmosphere, despite some areas reportedly in need of a refresh. The hotel's attentive staff and comfortable rooms with luxurious amenities frequently receive high marks, though opinions on value and room rates vary. While the majority of guests enjoy the delicious food and commend the professional service, with staff often going above and beyond, a few have experienced slower service, and some suggest improvements could be made to the ambiance of the restaurant and the cleanliness of the pool area.

We booked Nutfield for a mid week break to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel building itself is just stunning. Whilst being incredibly old it is kept in immaculate condition by the Nutfield team. The team are just lovely. Friendly, welcoming and unobtrusive. They couldn’t do enough for us. The food and drinks were delicious, and carefully prepared. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable and quiet. The grounds and views across the Surrey hills is also pretty spectacular! Strongly recommended! And if you are able to go mid-week when there may be fewer guests, you’ll feel like lord and lady of the manor!

My mum & I booked a spa day as a treat to look forward to in January and it certainly did not disappoint. We last came over 6 years ago and the service and quality of treatments remains the same. We really enjoyed the check in and welcome - where we had a hot drink prepared and a smoothie. I had a lovely express facial and body exfoliation and massage while my mum had an express back, shoulder and neck massage and luxury facial. All the treatments were wonderful and our therapists very attentive We both had a lovely lunch (recommend the salad bowls) - very tasty and generous portions. I liked that the spa manager checked in with us too. The spa area was not too overcrowded and we enjoyed the jacuzzi, spa, sauna and pool. Yes, the changing rooms look a little tired and well used in places, but everything worked well and had decent sized lockers, nice waterfall showers and good hairdryers. For the price, it was excellent, and you get quite a bit for your money, especially compared to other places. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing day and would definitely return.

My partner and I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Nutfield Priory Hotel, and it exceeded our expectations. Located not far from London, the hotel offers a serene escape with breathtaking views. The standout feature, however, was the impeccable service provided by the staff, Caroline, who was always there to great us at breakfast, was a delight—professional, warm, and attentive. Momoka at Reception was equally welcoming, and super helpful! The rooms were comfortable, the surroundings tranquil, and the overall experience was exceptional. Nutfield Priory Hotel, with its perfect blend of peaceful ambiance and outstanding service, comes highly recommended for a relaxing getaway. We can't wait to return.

When its dark outside by 4pm and not light again until after 8am, with the wind howling and the rain lashing down – there is something very special about being inside a warm, solidly built, building, which has a marvellous cloister – which is where the restaurant is located. When we visited, the combination of the storm outside and the tranquillity made for a wonderful atmosphere. The food also played its part – with an excellent Chef’s tasting menu (although we were, apparently a few minutes late in placing the order). We opted for five courses, and they all were all excellent. The beef was particularly flavoursome with a wonderful jus. The service started with a small bump, but quicky recovered by the marvellous and charming Abdul who looked after us exceptionally well. It was a lovely dinner, especially as it was a special occasion. We also stayed the night, this time in a feature room with a lovely large sley bed, super chairs, a wonderfully lit Christmas tree and a complimentary mini-bar. The bathroom is fine, but probably time for a modernisation, the bath is starting to show its age and there isn’t enough space to put out all the necessities one brings (soaps, toothbrush, contact lens solutions) , especially if there are two of you! However, the room was lovely – we enjoyed the food and slept soundly, having just enough time to enjoy their speciality cooked breakfast in the morning. We have visited fairly regularly for the last twenty five years, usually at this time, and this was one of our best experiences, albeit, a little pricey.

We decided earlier in the year to go somewhere for. Christmas Day lunch, we eventually chose Nutfield Priory. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the reception staff who took our coats and showed us to the bar room where we were served canapés and champagne. At the allotted time we were shown to the dining room and our table. The table was tastefully decorated. What impressed me was that there was a lot of space between the tables and it felt like you were in your own private dining room, we were overlooking the gardens and terrace. There were 6 courses served and each arrived with an acceptable time between being served. The food in its entirety was served hot and was delicious, the portions were generous. Throughout our meal, we were attended by wonderful staff, who ensured that we had everything that we wanted, they were professional and efficient but with a friendly manner that can be somewhat lacking with some 5 star hotels. To conclude, this was a most memorable experience, the staff were wonderful, the food delicious and fabulous setting. I felt that for what we received the price was quite reasonable, the wine that we pre ordered was quite pricey but it is everywhere you go. First class, thank you and we will definitely be returning next year.

Impeccable with dreary dining Christmas work function, staff are absolutely amazing , the venue is Christmas in a nutshell, beautifully maintained, stunning location, the Christmas dinner however was reminiscent of a £5 canteen affair . Genuinely disappointing. Everything else was Five stars , but being that the Christmas dinner was supposed to be the highlight of the evening, I can only give the overall experience Three stars. Sorry !

A really lovely afternoon tea - excellent service from all members of staff. Really made us welcome and couldn't have been more helpful. The scones, stollen and cake selection were all absolutely delicious - and we got to take everything we didn't eat home for later. The savoury selection - sandwiches - were ok but really could have had more seasoning and they were a little warm - but there were pigs in blankets on the plate so wonder if the sandwiches had been under the warm lights with them. There could also have been another selection (4 fillings rather than 2). The 2 mushroom truffle tarts were not great - quite dry and under seasoned - just pastry with some fried mushrooms - not as good as a quiche! The scones, stollen and cakes more than made up for the savoury section. More importantly the staff are wonderful, all really friendly. The venue is also very beautiful, especially at Christmas - it really does look very special. I would recommend this hotel for afternoon tea.

I am never ever disappointed by my occasional trips to Nutfield Priory Hotel. This trip was for an early afternoon tea (lunch). The cloisters is a really perfect place to sit. The staff are truly amazing. And the two lovely gentlemen attending to us (spoiling us) I remember from a previous visit probably 18 months plus? Ago. Norbert is so attentive an so professional. Exactly as he was on previous visits. The manager who's name I cant remember but he looks like the singer "Pitball" was as usual perfect. He really understands the reason we visit. Yes it's a special treat to do this but we were making memories as long time childhood friends. He offered to do photos without us having to ask. It's so kind. He also explained everything within the afternoon tea was made in the hotel. The first course (yes it was a two course tea!!!) Was finger sandwiches, a mini quiche, an a luxury slice of a stunning sausage roll. You have to see it an try it to understand how beautifully created they are. The 2nd course was 2 types of scones an then various cakes of beauty. Just works of art. The chefs are outstanding. The hotel is set in a beautiful location. I really wished I was staying there. Its so calm. So we three set off with doggy bags we packed ourselves which is a far better idea as often people like different cakes. Well done to all at the hotel it gives such a great service. An comforting place to be away from what is now a stressful world.
