This is my second visit to this hotel. The last one was over 5 years ago. The hotel is in a spectacular spot, staff are amazing, golf is sublime and I love the spa. Unfortunately, there is a real downside and that is the evening restaurant food. Once again , as 5 years ago, it is actually terrible. We had to eat 3 nights as local restaurants are not local. The whole menu was dreadful we were not even sure at times what we were eating , so we resorted on the last night to omelette and chips. They should stick to the food they offer at lunch outside simple but acceptable. We would go here much more often if the food improved.

A resort with lots of potential, lies in the middle of the catalan pyrenees - the southernmost golf course in France, very close to the Spanish border. We stayed there with friends for a weekend in September 2021. From the A9 north-south autoroute south of Perpignan, it takes about 1hr to get the resort. The golf course deserves five stars - with a very challenging layout, well maintained greens, fairways and first cut rough. Driving range and amenities (golf) were also very good. The room we had was on the first floor with a very nice view overlooking the driving range and golf course. The room and bathroom, however appeared somewhat tired, needing some maintenance, as some lights did not work; also, and surprisingly we had no water the first night (this was, I think, for the entire hotel). The hotel did not offer compensation for this notable inconvenience. Reason for the three stars is that I had the feeling that the drinks and meals were not of the quality that such an establishment should have. Over-priced and at best, three stars in terms of quality and taste (both drinks and meals). Service level was food, as the staff was attentive and professional. The setting is extremely nice surrounded by wooded hils, with four different hiking paths surrounding the resort and golf course. Overall, we had a good time during the weekend; disappointed a bit with the pricing. Special package offers make this resort a better value.

Stunning, remote, mountain location! I cannot say enough! Technically challenging and very interesting golf course, great golf instructor and practice facilities, very charming rooms with gorgeous views, excellent restaurant for a casual meal or gourmet dinner, professional-sports-level gym, indoor pool, spa, tennis, and THE friendliest, happiest staff I've encountered in years - in every department. If that were not enough, they also own the surrounding mountains so there are four different hiking trails of various levels of difficulty. Total relaxation. I cannot say enough!

We took an overnight stay, but due to work commitments were arriving too late for dinner, so they transformed our dinner to a lunch. Sadly, we didn't have time to enjoy the spa, but we'll be back. The golf is fantastic, really exceptional. The greens are damaged by some pretty harsh weather they've had, but are the only slight disagreement, and their greenkeepers are working hard to restore them. Squealing children playing at the practice with negligent adults overseeing their crotch goblins made the putting on 13 and tee-off on 14 a bit annoying, but such is life. The rest of the golf course is a haven of peace and splendid scenery, very physical if you're walking, but great in a cart. The restaurant and bar is delightful and the food is good, with smiling and attentive staff and overall, it's hard to fault the experience. The rooms are lovely, well-equipped and the bed comfortable. We'll definitely be back for the Autumn colours, because the spa looks great, and the chimney in the clubhouse looks wonderful. It's not cheap, and the road going to the domain is very twisty, but the inconvenience is forgotten the minute you open the terrace door in the room after a great nights sleep and breathe in the mountain air and see the Sun rise on the Canigou. A hint if you're coming from France. Cross the frontier at La Jonquera and take the GI 502 to Darnius, then the GI 503 through Tapis, arriving just in front of the D3 road to the golf turnoff. The road is much better, there are no radars, and not much traffic.

Have reviewed Falgos previously but having played there a lot in the past 12 months since my last review I wished to post another. Firstly it is truly breath taking golf course with some of the best views of any course in Europe. The staff are very friendly and it is a great place to spend a few days and relax in the mountains. The food has improved recently following some changes in the kitchen and it's generally much improved since a lot of the comments on here were left. Where I do still have some criticism, there are not enough snack options on the menu, whilst it is nice occasionally to have a large lunch after golf often you just want a sandwich and a portion of chips or similar so an expansion of the menu to include some more options like this would be welcome. Definitely a course I would recommend visiting and the restaurant and bar prices are about right when visiting an exclusive resort. If you are looking to join a golf club the membership cost is reasonable (for France) but the food and drink does get expensive so it would be good to see some sort of members discount scheme similar to other golf clubs (i.e. I get 20% of all bar purchases where I am a member). Also €4 for a cup of tea, just saying :-)

I've wanted to play this golf course since my arrival in the region and finally I played there on Sunday. Wow, it really is set in a spectacular location. The areas off the fairways could do with a little more attention but then maybe I should keep the ball on the fairway. We ate before I played golf and sadly the food didn't match up to our expectations. We both chose the fisherman's lunch which sounded appetising. It lacked in taste and we thought that the chef hadn't seasoned the dishes at all, even the pasta. I hope to play there again with a friend but I will suggest that we eat in the little village near to, the course before hand.

We are very glad you had pleasure and satisfaction to play our challenging and fascinating golf course. What a pity we don't satisfy you for all the services of our resort but we deeply would like to have an other opportunity to reach it.

A truly breath taking golf course with some of the best views I have seen at any course in Europe. The staff are very friendly and it is a great place to spend a few days and relax in the mountains. The bar and restaurant area are well presented and there is a good choice of food on the menu. My only slight criticism is that for the price being charged you would expect the food to be of a higher quality. If you are looking for somewhere a bit different for your next golf break I would highly recommend Falgos!

We have stayed a week at Falgos for each of the last 3 years and we always love going there. The staff are friendly and remember you from previous visits. The hotel is well laid out, the rooms are comfortable but could do with some renovation (dining area). The golf course is spectacular, as are the views of the Canigou and Pyrenees. The greens were fast and better maintained this year (compared to 2015). Some of the tees are uneven but the fairways are generally top notch. The disappointment is the restaurant food which has declined in quality over the past 3 years. The freshly-cooked meals are OK. The half-board food in the evenings is very average however. The menu remains unchanged as far as I can see. We will come back, but would like to see an improvement in the dining which is not up to the level of the rest of the resort.

I need to state at once that I have never stayed here. But I know people who have and they described it as being excellent value. What I do know about is the spa and the restaurant, as I am a member of the health club and go every week. The spa is excellent. There is a sauna and a steam room as well as two jacuzzis and a decent pool. There is also a large sunbathing area, both in and out. The large glass windows let in the sun so that I have been sunbathing in November. The most important fact is that the facilities are never overcrowded. Even in peak season, there is no long wait for the jacuzzis The restaurant is really good too. It caters for tired golfers who just want a beer and a burger but it also has a great menu with an excellent set menu containing local dishes and wines. I love going there. Did I mention the views? Looking North there are the mountains of the Pyrenees. Looking South you can see the Med at the Bay of Rosas. Stunning. Apparently the golf course is excellent but I have never been. My friends play twice a week and love it. Recommended for both locals and tourists.
