THE 10 BEST Hotels in Trevi (Rome) 2024
Trevi Hotels
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighborhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.

- ShashaChino Valley, Arizona395 contributionsThree Fountains and MoreIn addition to the surround of beautiful buildings and numerous cafés, terraces, street performers and portrait artists, the piazza has three fountains. The Fountain of Four Rivers with the obelisk, and two smaller fountains. . The granite Obelisk Agonale from Aswan Egypt, sits in the middle of Piazza Navona atop the Fountain of Four Rivers (Nile, Danube, Ganges, Rio de la Plata) constructed by Bernini in 1651. A dove perches on its top, a symbol of the Pamphili family who had it erected. Also there are the Fountain del Nettuno and Fontana del Moro.Visited January 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten March 25, 2023
- Sean WLondon, United Kingdom196 contributionsGreat oval square full of fountainsAmazing square formally the location of a Roman athletics stadium and it still regains the oval shape pf the running track. Great fountains in the middle and both ends and worth a visit. Restaurants can be quite pricey! We paid 100 euros for lunch, you are paying for the view and locationVisited March 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten March 26, 2023
- travelbob1New Windsor, New York1,136 contributionsDon't Miss It.Wonderful place to find some food. Also look down the side streets for some other dining options, you can get some similar meals for a euro or two less. The Piazza is also wonderful for strolling past the many buildings; their architecture and design. There are places to sit and people watch, study the fountains and take in the Roman experience.Visited March 2023Written April 1, 2023
- Terry MHamilton, Canada4,647 contributionsAS GOOD A PIAZZA AS ROME HASThis square has a bit of everything. Its three fountains are all photo worthy. Chiesa Sant'Agnese in Agone fronts its western side. Yet another obelisk holds sway. There are a raft of restaurants for your dining pleasure. It is as good a piazza as any in Rome to loiter, people watching with a gelato.Visited March 2023Traveled with friendsWritten April 3, 2023
- Karen FCarlisle, Pennsylvania86 contributionsA classic and must see in Rome.Classic! Listen to opera singers in the piazza. Beautiful architecture, great people-watching, vibrant and energetic - a must see if one goes to Rome. Walk around the Pantheon and find the stores that sell clerical garb and find lovely gifts for priests and religious.Visited November 2022Traveled soloWritten April 28, 2023
- Bill CVancouver, Canada4,282 contributionsImpressive PlazaThis plaza has 3 beautiful fountains with sculptures by Bernini. There are quite a number of restaurants surrounding the plaza. The plaza is within walking distance of the Pantheon, the Jewish Ghetto, and Campo de’ Fiori. From what I have read, this plaza has also been featured in several films such as Dan Brown’s “Angels & Demons”, “National Lampoon’s European Vacation”, and “The Talented Mr. Ripley”.Visited March 2023Written May 5, 2023
- honeggmMaur, Switzerland304 contributionsVery impressive Square with beautiful fountain!Huge square in the middle of the old town of Rome. In the middle the fountain of 4 rivers, which is beautifully representing the 4 known continents at the time. Clearly a must see and within walking distance of the other beautiful things to see in Rome.Visited May 2023Written May 15, 2023
- Family5GetAwaySt. John's, Canada295 contributionsLovely piazza with a lot to see and doOur hotel was near the Piazza Navona so we found ourselves in the area every day/evening. It is pretty centrally located so within walking distance of a lot of the tourist hot spots and definitely worth a visit. It is a very large piazza and contains three beautiful fountains, an obelisk, a lovely old church, a lot of restaurants and some stores. The area is always full of people, but I never felt crowded.Visited May 2023Written May 28, 2023
- AK8397Ontario, Canada885 contributionsThe Fountains are AmazingThis famous piazza has so much to offer -- impressive architecture, ornate fountains, a selection of cafes and restaurants, talented buskers and people to watch. Probably the best time to go would be late afternoon when the temperature has cooled and the crowds have thinned. There's not a lot of shade on a hot day and few benches to rest upon. So maybe grab a table under an umbrella and have a cool drink or early dinner.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 6, 2023
- WanderingOttersonsDenver, Colorado1,380 contributionsMarvelous square with great fountainsAs you wander through the city to see all the primary sites, you will most likely end up here along your way. If you are looking for some overpriced tourist food, then you’ve arrived. If you want a better meal at a better price? Move along. Some good places to grab a table and a drink and people watch if you like. Just passing through? Definitely take a few moments to stop and wonder at the two fountains in the square. Masterpieces of sculpture, they are both fantastic in their own way. Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi is the large one near the center and quite an amazing spectacle wo walk around and see.Visited May 2023Written June 12, 2023

- Esquilino HotelsOld school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.Read more

- Monti HotelsMonti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.Read more
- Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori HotelsWith three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighborhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.Read more
- Trastevere HotelsTrastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.Read more
- Ludovisi / Via Veneto HotelsThanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.Read more
- Campo Marzio HotelsFrom its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.Read more
