Food was excellent, the price correct, and service very professional although sometimes a bit slow. And of course, the setting is superb.

Great location on the Blavet, service is impeccable, food is delicious and a lot of products from the area is used, especially buckwheat. We are looking to come back again once everything is renovated

We enjoyed a very memorable seven-course meal at Jeremie Louis’ Michelin-star restaurant. Every single dish was a culinary delight and creative composition. The staff were very attentive, and the wine list had an impressive choice of French red wines.

Small and comfortable restaurant. We were on a deal which involved a 3 course meal with wines. The fois gras starter with citrus presented the kind of challenge which I occasionally enjoy at high end restaurants – extremely well executed but you are not sure...whether you like it or not. The cod main course was described by my wife as the best fish dish she had ever eaten. The bread and butter served throughout was outstanding. I really enjoyed the wine pairings chosen by the lady sommelier (sommelière?) all of which matched the dishes perfectly. Service was great, led by a lady who spoke impeccable English having worked for several years at Gidleigh Park. Overall, I enjoyed this meal a lot more than I thought I was going to. Vital statistics: DBB + wines deal for 2: €315.More

Went with 2 friends for dinner to Chatau Locguenole, The restaurant is situated in the cellar of the chateau Locguenole, next to the kitchen. The ambiente was very nice, reflecting the rustic character of Bretagne (in a positiv way). The menu suggestions were very ballanced...and cost wise between 50 - 100 Euros, depening on the amount of courses ordered. The service of the restaurant was really excellent. The waiter could explain all the details of the food in French and English. The wine menue was also good, displaying a lot of 2 nd bottles of wine chateaux, which made it payable as well. Asking the somellier for a full body wine, he recommended a wine which was not on the menue for around 70 Euros, and the wine was really good. Food: the presentation of the food, the combination of colours and tastes was sensational. Fish carpacio on a very hot stone, oyster in a creamy sauce with lemmon flavour ... just great For me, the chef Florian Boire, which came also to our table, asking if we liked the food, is cooking in my opinion on a Michelin Star level. Great food, great place. I will come back again.More

We thought the fish was amongst the best we have ever eaten . Very imaginative and not too complex sauces. We also enjoyed the local wine and cheeses. The staff was excellent, attentive, but not hovering. The stone interior room is intimate with a warm...ambience.More

Delicious treatment of local produce and regional specialties, whether for dinner or at breakfast. Since my husband can eat nothing that ever swam, he had their veal dish twice and their beef rossini and the lamb, which was particularly good. I had the St. Pierre...which was so exquisite, I ordered it nearly every night!More

Beautiful food, well presented, attentive service and a good wine list. Worth making the trip for and a must if you stay at the Chateau. Has a Michelin Star but they don't really seem to boast about it.

This place is very upmarket and quite expensive. We went for my birthday with high hopes and expectations. The setitng and welcome was exemplary. We walked round the grounds which were lovely, then went to the restaurant. That is when things began to be disappointing....We had looked at the menu online which was good and interesting. The Michelin starred restaurant had a 7 course menu, a 2, 3 or 4 course menu and a la carte. We chose the 3 courses for €48. It all began with the wine - our chosen bottle of rose was warm - but in an ice bucket. It took 3 goes to get out of them that they had sold all the cooled wine that afternoon, so they were quite content to let us have warm wine. Eventually after insisting, we were brought some alternative wine from the same region which was fine. The meal - 3 courses - entree - average, plat - completely stunning - the duck was to die for and wonderfully cooked, pudding - average. Ambiance - great setting, but the waiters were uncoordinated, flapped about each other and generally needed a leader. When it came to pay the bill - they got the wine price wrong! After all that fuss!!! Would we go back? Maybe, but it was not quite the treat we hoped for.More

We stayed at the Chateau Locguenole when we visited Carnac and Quiberon in Brittany. Seldom have we had such a wonderful hotel and restaurant experience. This is a Chateaux & Relais property, therefore very expensive and very elegant. The service was, as expected, professional and...efficient. But to our great delight, the staff couldn't have been friendlier and more welcoming. We were offered a choice among four reception rooms around the Chateau to have our pre-dinner drinks. We chose one with wood paneling, long French windows and doors, decorated with family portraits. We tried the 'cocktail du main' which was champagne with cherry brandy. Too sweet for my taste, but my husband happily finished mine. The dining room was downstairs in what had been the Chateau's kitchen. So it was full of French charm in a rustic way. We had a lovely table by the window, looking out over the lawns. It turned out we were the only ones dining. I don't know if the superb service we received was due to that, but superb it was. Our young waiter was friendly and open to our conversational overtures (turns out his cousin has a restaurant in Montreal). Friendly but not intrusive. He practised his English and we practised our French. He was helpful with suggestions. When he brought my duck entree he told me it was cooked very rare, but the chef had instructed him to tell me that if I preferred it more well done, he would be pleased to comply. I deferred to the chef's expertise, ate it rare and it was melt in the mouth tender. My husband had his usual steak, cooked perfectly to his medium rare specification and served hot. I don't remember what the sides, appetizers, amuse bouches and desserts were, but I do remember they were fantastically good, as was the recommended wine. We took our time and spent several hours over dinner. Although we were the only clients, we were not rushed and never received the impression they were willing us to hurry and go so they could go home. Flawless cooking, presentation and service. Eat here if you ever get the chance. It is worth every penny.More
