Very rude, we were attended by a young server who wanted to look for a table for us, and he was on the way when the chef/owner came and just said no table! We were quite shocked at his rudeness especially as we could see...some tables open inside and a couple about to leave. We will never come here!!More

Simply quality food. Authentic Italian sphere. No need of bling bling or fanciness nor overwhelming customer friendliness. Food is what matters and that is what you get: superb natural simple ingredients in a relaxed intimate setting. Elegant but not overdone. Just perfect.

We made a reservation in this restaurant but we left before we even sit. The hostess was very unfriendly from the beginning. When we asked not to sit us by the door with the baby. The hostess and the owner declined in very rude manner,...saying that the draft from the door was not an issue. So we choose another restaurant😊More

This is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Traditional cooking, the flavors, the ingredients, its all perfect. I don't go here too often, to keep it special, but I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Also, the staff is so friendly and...the way of severing food is an experience in itself.More

We heard about this place by word of mouth and finally managed to get in. No written menu or wine list, it was explained by the waiter. The food was extremely fresh, authentic and beautifully presented. Everything we had was delicious and full of flavour...and was not over expensive.More

I have been in Gio’s for the second time. I came back after a strange experience last time (December 2018) when we had some trouble with the order of the wine. They only wanted to sell us the house wine (which is very simple and...not really good) and said there is no other wine available. At that time we saw other tables witn a choice of wine and when we complained they claimed that was a misunderstanding of a waiter whi had his first day in the restaurant. So this time I was prepared and asked several times for the wine list. Again they refused and insisted in the house wine. Actually they seem to have changed the offer and now really only have a white, a red and a rose house wine and no further choice. For me for a restaurant of this price level not acceptable. Food was good, service not too attentive. I think I will not come again but rather go to one of the other really good Italian restaurants in Maastricht.More

Having eaten here twice previously, was again impressed by Gio's fantastic food and personal service. The quality of the ingredients shine though a deceptively simple preparation. It is a real shame that there is no wine list. Very pleasant dining at a great location.

Located at Vrijthof in Maastricht, Gio’s Cucina is a nice Italian cuisine restaurant that you must visit. Make a reservation a few days before you want to have diner, or just visit the restaurant and ask to call you on your mobile phone as soon...as a table is available. This is all worth it! Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, great and tasty food. Chef Gio visits your table to explain the choices for the main course. All dishes are made fresh for you. All food is presented and served from large plates to you, making it special. Pricing is avarage, about €50 p.p. including drinks (depends of what you drink of course). Visiting Maastricht, then visit Gio’s !More

Staying next door and saw the reviews so we walked over for dinner. It is served family style, multi course meal. We all had the seafood choice for the entree and was quite enjoyable. The salad was great as well as the penne course. We...enjoyed a bottle of the house red wine. Overall we enjoyed the meal for the price. Very authentic Italian even though they are Dutch.More

We went there with friends. Everything was simply excellent. Antipasto : a fresh salad - delicious Pasta : aïoli or tomato / basil : AL dente and tasty. Main cours à choice from sea food or lamb côtelettes or osso buco. Everything perfect in taste...an presentation. We had the house wine with it which was very good. Desert was not part of the menu, but if you do have a sweet tooth, you need to have the turamisou. In total a bit pricey but worth every cent. To be tried if you come to Maastricht!More

We went for dinner to Gio’s again. As always it was very good. They have perfected the few dishes they serve and quality is perfect. Service as well, the team is very friendly. One point they could improve is what they serve for kids. It...does not go further than tomato sauce pasta. Some creativity would be welcome.More

The restaurant has no menu but serves an Italian anti-pasta, pasta and main dish for about 39euro. You can choose between 2 options for the pasta and main dish. Great real Italian style food!
