Great food and nice service, This place is cozy and staff very friendly. It was a nice meal and not expensive.
Good restaurant. Sometimes full due to popularity. Good staff and excellent food. The place is cozy.
Restaurant is "hidden" and not easy to spot. Large, if muddy in rainy days, parking lot. Food a la carte at ground level or buffet in the basement. Good selection of traditional dishes. Good cooking, trivial desserts, adequate service, large choice of wines. Not deserving...a trip, it is a good choice for those travelling in the vicinity at time of a meal, namely lunch.More
A real gem in the area.. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was on point. The staff is very friendly and the owner, Rui was very courteous with my family and made sure we were all well taken care of. Definitely recommend this...restaurant. An amazing Portuguese experience with our delicious Portuguese authentic gastronomy.More
After having piglet, a must in the area, we wanted to try something different. We opted for Dom Ferraz, a Surf and Turf type of restaurant, serving mixed meat and fish dishes. The restaurant caters primarily to local families. We arrived at the opening at...7 pm. In about half an hour the restaurant was almost full with families and many children. We were greeted by Helena, a very nice young lady, who spoke enough English to guide us through the menu. We opted for the mix seafood and pork meat ( other meat choices were veal an lamb). To portion was big and on the side we got home made fried potatos, rice and green salad. Everything was very good. We were suggested the white house wine and it was a very good choice. We also had a sweet we shared and agua ardiente to celebrate our last evening in the area. The check came to Euro 41, including Euro 7 for the agua ardiente. A place very much recommended. We also noticed the great attention of all waiters towards children, not very common nowadays.More
A local (high-end) hotel recommended this restaurant to us when they couldn't accommodate our party because of a wedding. In the event, we got to experience a very typical Portuguese family restaurant - and it was a fine one at that. The restaurant specializes in..."Mar e Terra" - that is, Surf and Turf. The dinners are enormous, and I would recommend splitting one between two persons. While vegetarian meals are not strictly on the menu, a member of our party who prefers such food was well accommodated by the chef. Best of all was that they actually liked having some American tourists dine in their establishment. We were doted upon by our kind and charming young waitress, and the staff in general was friendly and very accommodating, making recommendations about wine food, wine, and dessert, and genuinely enjoying our attempts to say a few words in their native tongue. In the end, it was a pleasant way to enjoy an evening among regular people out to celebrate or just have some good food. My five-star recommendation does not mean that this is a high-end, pinkie-in-the-air type of place, just a wonderful, and wonderfully enjoyable experience that I hope you cherish as much as we did. You will, indeed, "leave as friends" if our experience is anything to go by.More
This the simply the greatest restaurant we went during our stay in Portugal. Nothing special from the outside, with a location nearby the main road between anadia and meahalada. But the food is just great, as well as the service. The restaurant was full of...local, which is always a good sign.More
Very friendly employees, the mix between meat/squid/shrimp/fish/lobster is very good and the quality of the food is very good, well cook and tasty. Good deserts also. I don't give 5* because the restaurant is small for the demand and we always had to wait 20/30m...for a table. It's not possible to make reservations in august...and is quite noisy.More
We stumbled across this restaurant by chance and I'm happy we did it. It was rather busy but the waiters were on cue and willing to share advice on what to choose. Cannot wait to go back. We had a fish and meat mix with...a special sauce and it was delicious. The bread and cheese are also a must try, they use traditional products, therefore everything is tasty.More
Our family took us here for lunch while we were visiting Portugal. We really enjoyed the cuttlefish, chicken, and shrimp on rice dish. Great flavour in the sauce poured ontop. The owner came out to meet us, and he was very friendly. Seemed busy enough...for lunchtime.More
