We really enjoyed our meal at Ze Bota. The octopus and pork shank were especially good. The dining room is simple and relaxed. There is a good selection of wine. The service was excellent. Would definitely return.

Honestly can’t comment on food as left before ordering as staff were so rude - arrived at time of reservation but were made to stand and wait by door while member of staff set a table ( not ours) Menu was placed on our table...with no comment, we were not asked if we wanted anything to drink, and we were ignored for ten minutes before we decided to leave. There is no music playing, lighting is too bright and there is zero atmosphere. Disappointing.More
We made a reservation for lunch. The food was barely edible as it seemed to be prepared earlier and just kept warm. A high amount of salt is used in restaurants to make up for poor quality ingredients. The service was very slow and quite...rude. Luckily we speak Portugese as the menu is not in English and the owners don't want to speak Engilsh. We could not wait to leave the restaurant. I would highly recommend to Avoid this restaurant.More
I can’t say enough amazing things about this restaurant! We were lucky enough to have dinner with our 2 kids here and were treated like family. Our lovely waiter carried around our 3 month old daughter so we could eat in peace and lovingly played...with our son. That alone would have been amazing but the food was outstanding. Extremely tender pork shank, delicious seafood risotto, and extensive wine list. Would have eaten every meal here!More
Interesting local, small restaurant that is near the end of a small street. As others have mentioned, wine crates line the walls. Lots of local Portuguese dishes on the menu. We had the octopus salad and fish and rice. Both were filling and well-prepared. Good...house wine, also,More
Nice local restaurant with amazing food , is one of those restaurants that you look forward to come back , cozy and friendly atmosphere, can’t thank enough to Fernando for the port wine tasting , he was extremely kind.
Owner is clearly a big lover of wines as the walls are decorated with 100s of pieces of wine crates and there is a huge choice of interesting and they were happy to open bottles for us to try before we bought a glass. Food...was really well cooked and v Portuguese. Clientele were almost all locals (downside was that staff's english wasn't great but this is definitely not a criticism of the staff rather my language skills!). As I mentioned in the title the restaurant was recommended by our 'with locals' tour guide who had a friend who used the restaurant a lot for his business.More
My husband and I ate there on December 23rd and had one of the most amazing meals that we have ever had. We ate salad, a hot cheese appetizer, and the veal zebota-it was amazing! We can’t wait until our next trip to Porto to...return.More
Hiden spot amazing local cuisine , when we where there was 100% locals enjoying fresh typical dishes , Friendly service
A quaint, small and cosy restaurant that had an atmosphere that I would describe as warm hospitality. The room is interestingly decorated with names displayed of former diners from all over the world.
Beyond unwelcoming experience! All the reviews we read were positive so we made a point to come here for dinner. The “ husband and wife “ that are described in so many reviews were definitely not who we met tonight and they ruined the entire...dining experience. The $42 seafood rice entree for two was completely void of mussels and there was not one clam in any of the shells. I swear they must have just dumped the clam shells from our appetizer into this dish.More
Sent to Ze Bota by locals-from our hotel and a tour guide. This is the meal you need to have and the place you need to visit in Porto. Run by an amazing husband and wife team, the food, service and atmosphere were incredible. Tourists...find this place but many locals eat here. Octopus was great. Wine list was very nice. Desserts are homemade by the owner (wife) and were phenomenal. Was so good I wanted to go back a second time but was not able-don't miss this place if you are in Porto.More
Ze Bota is tucked in a small alley and likely only found by recommendation (hotel for us). The atmosphere, food and service are very good. We had a very enjoyable mean. Reservations highly recommended. Walk-ins had to wait more than an hour to get a...table for the second seating.More
Really great place - the best place we have eaten in Porto! Excellent food and we loved the linen tablecloths and napkins. Wine selection was terrific. Don’t hesitate to make a reservation
This small restaurant offers a traditional Portuguese menu with wonderfully cooked food, nice mix of grilled vegetables as part of the mains, excellent fresh bread varieties topped off with good professional service. Only issue was salting of the potatoes ( often the case in Portugal)...although to be fair we forgot to request this not be done. Book as it’s popular with, locals and there are limited tables Would certainly come back againMore
