We stumbled across this restaurant one afternoon and enjoyed everything so much. Food is delicious, memorable and surprising. Welcome was warm and serious in terms of service and meeting expectations. We will want I come again. Thank you.

I'll be honest, I never expected the food to be this great when I first saw the place. Just to prove that the most amazing places are those to pay more attention to what they put on your table then to worry about the extravagant...looks fo the place. This does not mean it is a shabby place at all, it is very well maintained and clean. But the food is on a totally different level and so is the service from the Chef himself. The staff did not speak English very well, but they knew what they were doing. Did I mention that the food was amazin? it really was. Highly recommended.More
Stopped off for the night at the motorhome Aire next to this lovely restaurant. The patron could not have been more friendly and the meal is delightful good standard restaurant food at a very reasonable price. We had fois gras and a salad followed by...prawns and a chicken in tarragon sauce. The cheese course featured local good cheeses and the creme brûlée was very good. This, plus a bottle of wine and coffee for less than 90 euros. Well worth a visit if you are passing.More
simple meal expected better for food from the normandy area. i wish the hotel would have recomended another in the area
Hello.... I think you're wrong ... We are not va restaurant at Mont St Michel ... and neither in Normandy Thank you for correcting your comment. Your sincerely, Karima & Jérôme METIVIER
Had lunch which was presented and served really well. Tremendous panoramic views of the Vendee countryside. Good selection of food and wines, reasonably priced.
Had lunch on Saturday just over a week ago. We chose the 29 euro menu. The first course (foie gras) was good and well presented. Unfortunately my Fillet Mignon was overcooked. I asked for medium rare but perhaps I was misunderstood or they assume all...Brits like overcooked food? The dessert I chose was a mini selection. It was boring (nothing imaginative) and the creme caramel or creme brulee (not sure what it was supposed to be) was still frozen inside as it must have just come out of the freezer. The restaurant was not busy and I expected it to be much better. I am not a chef but I could certainly prepare similar food much better. I am a regular visitor to the area but will not be rushing back to this restaurant. Service was ok. Had it not been for the good first course, I would have given a lower rating.More
on our way to puy du fou we stopped at mont mercure resaturant. ok the food was good;but the dessert was terrible ,hot fruit with 1 bol of ice. the bill 82 € for 2 persons; we did nt drink wine ,only beer and a...cola. we left with a terrible hunger it s a shame that michelin recomend this restaurant. NEVER AGAINMore
After reading the reviews I was excited about trying it out, but I have to say it left me disappointed afterwards. The meal was fine, but nothing exceptional, the service was pretty slow, and it was very expensive for what it was. There are certainly...better options in the area, that are also probably a lot more authentic.More
We made the 4+ hour drive from Caen to the Les Epesses region to go to Puys du Fou the next day, and made an advance booking after having found this restaurant (being the only Bib Gourmand selection) in the Michelin Guide. What a treat...awaited us! The backdrop was spectacular - lush grass and vineyards stretching as far as the eye could see. The wines were so inexpensive it was like buying from a convenience store (but obviously 100 times the quality - we're talking Loire Valley wines after all). The food? We had the escargots (hands down the best escargots I have ever had), the pigeon and the veal. Just unbelievably divine and scrumptious. My wife literally had a look of rapture on her face over dessert. I'm not really a dessert person, until I found out that they had put a mango jelly in the parfait she was eating. And that essentially sums up this restaurant - they make heavenly food with the simplest of ingredients. Service was warm and sincere, which we have come to expect from the finest of the "local" restaurants in France. And of course, this being a Bib Gourmand restaurant, you are paying peanuts - just more icing on the cake. The absolute gastronomic highlight (and there were a number of them) of the trip.More
We were on our way to the night show at Puy du Fou and needed a good meal, the last one during a two week stay in France, and this was the perfect place for that, not elegant and the service wasn't polished, but this...was one of the best meals I had in France. I especially remember the salad with slices of duck and bits of foie gras. I would definitely go back here.More
