Do not go to this place. During midday rush they serve uncooked chicken. It was chewy and gave me terrible food poisoning.
This place was surprisingly good! Big kebabs and olive salads after a night out in Budapest. Just be careful as the olives are not pitted!
Honestly ? This place made me so angry from the time I entered. The rudeness of the staff was appalling. The staff didn’t even give me the chance to order what I was fancying at the time and instead just made something off the top of...their head. I was reading the menu and my food was already made and they were waiting for me to pay. I mean HELLO , it’s not your order it’s not you eating it and it’s certainly not you paying I’ll have what I want not what you want to give me. And there was no care in the world. I’m still livid. The cheek of it.More
Never been spoke to or served food like this in my life, the fact that I didn’t order and ended up having a wrap is terrible, it seems to be if your not Hungarian they don’t want to help just take your money off you
This place was another gem. Busy with locals and tourists. Queuing outside the door. Friendly staff and clean. Big portions and tasty food
Gyros pita were great. The meat is excellent; and the white sauce is to die for. Quite cheap. All in all a great kebab.
After our visit to the Hungarian National Museum, we walked about 200 meters (less than 5 minutes) to the Istanbul Kebab & Grill on Kalvin Ter (Calvin Square) for lunch. The restaurant is cafeteria style – order your food and wait for your order. I...had the chicken pita (filled with protein, greens and vegetables topped with a creamy sauce with a bottle of coke for 1,150 forints (about US $4 or Cdn $5.40). Ratings breakdown: • Quality and taste – tasty • Portion size vis-à-vis price – very good value for the price paid • Service – this is a self-serve cafeteria style operation. Fairly quick turn around once you order. For a quick lunch this was pretty good. I would rate the overall food experience as above average – 3.5+ out of 5. Notes and Tips • Indoor and outdoor patio seating • There is another restaurant location closer to the chain bridge • After our lunch we walked to the Central Market Hall less than 1/4 mile away. Believe or not we ate again because we had to try a Hungarian dish – langos – their version of a pizza with a soft doughy crust. See review of Central Market Hall. • We also ate at the Hummus Bar on Becsi Utca (Street) on another day. Review to follow. • We were staying at at AirBnB in the Jewish Quarter so we had 3 meals in the Jewish Quarter. There are a lot of eating options and bars in the Jewish Quarter. We ate at Fat Mama, Fuego and the Drum Cafe all in the same area. See my reviews.More
Stopped here for lunch, the kebab wrap was really nice and not too heavy. Good flavours and restaurant was clean too.
I really don't mind haute cuisine, but when it comes to grabbing a bite, Istanbul Kebab really hits the spot. Huge portions for a really affordable price.
The worst service: late and a burned Kabab ; since I have visited all the Turkish restaurant in Budapest I have to say that I don't recommend it.
This place is always busy and that's a good sign. I've been going there for years when I just want something quick and easy. The downside is that at certain times, it's crowded and chaotic. But the durums are great. The sad thing is, they...used to be way better and bigger only about a year ago. But they shrank the tortilla size since then. Still a good deal and good taste though.More
What a super spot. Great food staff and the value is outstanding. This was beside hotel and we had a lunch here, best grub of trip.
Very friendly staff, they also serve Turkish tea and worth of money food, near the Saint stephens basilica
Not much more to say than get yourself here at least once and smash a gyro (or two). Prices are good and the staff are friendly. Boom.
