Italian restaurants are often celebrated for their mastery of pastas and sauces. However, at this particular venue, the Marinara sauce had an unusual flavor profile, reminiscent of a fusion between Indian and Chinese cuisines. This impression was reinforced by the Salmon Fettuccine, which seemed to...have been prepared in a wok at high temperatures, leading to a slightly burnt taste in the sauce. Despite being served piping hot, the pasta itself was overcooked and didn't appear to be of premium quality. On a positive note, the Olive oil mix served with bread was a delightful part of the meal.More

Frequent diners at La Collina. This time we had a friend who used to live in Millbrae and she chose the location. La Collina has been a local favorite in Millbrae for probably 25 + years. Every visit we end up chatting with friends who...are also dining there. Solid menu with a wine list that includes reasonably priced wines We were served by the owner who goes out of her way to be gracious and generous.More

Nice Italian place-good minnestrone. We were early and the service was excellent, and I can see this is a neighborhood favorite. There is a full bar and nice wine list.

This is our traditional last dinner before flying out of SFO. We choose a quiet table in the corner and watch the neighborhood come in for a dinner in their friend Rose's restaurant. Dinner is always delicious and the Italian ambiance is just what we...need to relax before a long flight.More

Found this hidden gem while walking around when our go to restaurant was closed. So happy we did! Service was great, food was fresh and delicious, and price was unbelievable! They seriously should be charging more. We will definitely visit again on our next trip...out of SFO.More

With a long day of international travel scheduled for the next day, a relaxing dinner the night before was just what we needed, and La Collina is a classic old school restaurant, full of charm.

Lots of excellent choices on the menu. Everything we ordered was hot, tasty & a large quantity. Salads were cold & crispy. We did not have dessert, though they did look quite good.

We took a friend to SFO at 4:00 pm and given the prospect of at least a 2 1/2 trip home we decided to look for a restaurant for an early dinner. We saw this restaurant on TA and since it was an effortless drive...from the airport we decided to try it. Well, we were very impressed with all aspects of our dining experience. Food, restaurant, and the pleasant, knowledgeable, professional waiter (Luis). We ordered a couple of reasonably priced glasses of wine, the house salad, the special chicken cannelloni, and the linguini with clams and mussels. Wow! All were outstanding and the main dishes pipping got-a rarity now. Given the traffic situation at 7:45, we proceeded to desert. The chocolate cake was another very pleasant surprise. At about $90 for the above, all right, 3 glasses of wine and coffee, I list this as a bargain. The opening complementary crusty bread and dipping sauce was a great opening to what turned out to be one of, if not the best Italian means we have had in a very long time. Needless to say we will definitely be back, even if we aren't departing or playing chauffeur.More

The food was absolutely delicious -- a culinary delight. I don't think I have ever had a dish with which was so perfectly prepared: fresh risotto, a tasty mix of fresh vegetables, seared yet juicy chicken bits, and a wonderfully seasoned sauce. Experience the perfect...blend of Italian tradition and California fresh at La Collina. The restaurant is small and cozy with white table cloths, yet reasonably priced. I regret only that I don't live nearby and can't visit more often to experience more of the menu.More

We'v frequently eaten here. It is often filled with local Millbrae folks so there are often visits between tables. The reasons it is a local favorite is the food quality, portions, pleasant atmosphere and warm welcome by the owner. Street parking can sometimes be an...issue at meal time but do not fear there are multiple free parking lots within a block or two. Menu is extensive and all good. Large selection of first and second courses along with large list of daily specials. They have a liquor license so you can have your choice of beverages.More

Six for dinner and all were pleased. This is almost a miracle. This place has been here for years and this is my first time here. The only problem is finding a parking spot. People in our party ordered veal, or salmon or pasta with...sausage and all were excellent. The severs were very nice and efficient. They also serve a complimentary bread spread in olive oil that is wonderful of the fresh sour dough.More

Our last night out west and we were at a hotel near SFO and saw La Collina on tripadvisor and it was 5 minute from the hotel so we gave it a go. It was late but the staff took good care of us during...our meal. Good breads delivered to the table after ordering to help curve the hunger as they prepared our meals. We went quick and simple with a Ceaser Salad, Lasagna & Eggplant Parm. Everything had a great taste and the sauces were not overly salty like you fine in a lot of Italian foods. Serving sizes are pretty big, so don't over do it with apps. Can't say I'd ever be back, but if I was to ever stay near SFO, La Collian's would be a go to restaurant.More
