Stopped in for lunch on our way out of Chattanooga. We were pretty hungry, so we ordered quite a bit of food. We started with the smoked trout dip, which was delicious. However, it came with a pile of vegetables on top. So much so,...that I didn't even know it was the dip. I would order again, sans the veggies. We also did chose the three cheese board. Along with the cheese came fig jam, grapes, pecans, and toasted bread. All delicious...especially the pecans dipped in the jam. I chose the wedge salad as my main and it was SO fresh!!! My husband chose the soup of the day, which was a Mexican meatball, OMG was that delightful! A little bit of spice, but not enough to turn even the most sensitive palates away. He also ordered the scallops with butternut squash. The scallops were PERFECTION!!! On top of the amazing food, the service was outstanding. Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. The icing on the cake was how inexpensive everything was. That meal anywhere else would have easily been over $150. It was half here.More

We ate here for an early dinner. It was great! Our server was very friendly and attentive. Wine selection was good. We both had seafood options - fresh and exceptionally well-prepared. Had a unique pineapple dessert as well. Highly recommend!

We were routed to Public House because the Tupelo Honey was an hour wait. We did get right into the bar section. There were multiple servers attending to our table. It was very busy. We had really hoped for breakfast so that may have colored...this review. The bar had no Baileys for my coffee. Seemed surprising for a full service bar. The food was good. The quail was actually very good. Small but the waitress warned about that. My husband’s meal was ok. The bill did not include our drinks so we had to let them know about the mistake. Seemed the different wait staff were not communicating. We might have just hit it at a bad time or bad for us. We would likely give it another try if we are in Chattanooga.More

We enjoyed an excellent meal from shared plates to salad and main. The food quality was excellent and the price was very reasonable, actually a bargain. The service was ok, not exceptional. A great choice for dinner.

It was a Christmas celebration with family. Those living here had wanted to try the Public House & they didn't disappoint. Where you love steak, fish, or other meats, they have a great selection. Even choices for vegetarians. Service was great & the waiter was...informative. Well worth the time & money.More

The Pot Roast wasn't on the server's recommendation list, but I tried it anyway. It was delicious! The meat almost melted in my mouth along with the mashed potatoes. Both were perfectly cooked and portioned. I thought I would like the combination chocolate chip cookie...banana pudding dessert, but it wasn't my favorite. I took it to go and when I got back to the hotel, I was somewhat disappointed in its execution. I would definitely go back to this restaurant, but not sure I'd stay for dessert.More

This was my first visit to a lovely pub in a beautiful setting. I was pleasantly supprised that not only was it open on a Monday it also served food. I ordered a pie which was quite acceptable but, unfortunately I opted for Roast Potatoes....A grave mistake; they tasted as they they had been previously cooked, (possibly left overs from Sundays' lunch session?) and re-heated. They were so hard it was difficult to cut them. Not acceptable for a chef to turn out this level of cuisine. This totally ruined my meal and experience here, I shall not be returningMore

WOW.... if you go through downtown Chattanooga, a must stop is Public House! The menu is so different and changes with the specials. Snacks include pimento cheese, grilled sourdough, and fried pickles, also, bbq carrots, and Yankee cornbread with sorghum butter. Great meat and cheese...platters, that you get to pick the items, small plates (that were not small), and the menu goes on. Most ordered: pot roast, fried chicken and shrimp & grits, info from a local individual who comes regularly. The most surprising - the prices were very reasonable! Nate, the bartender was exceptional and the other staff, cordial and professional.More

The food and service was top notch. The food was full of robust flavor. Portions was just the right size. I will visit it again. I recommend you do the same.

I am a supporter of Public House. However, I used to love their fried chicken - now I will never order it again. I'm not sure what they have done, but the last two times that I have ordered the fried chicken it has been...very dry. I ended up eating the crust only.More

This was an easy place to get to, and parking was simple, especially since the restaurant validates the nearby garage. The menu was nicely simple and the salmon was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs and guided us to extremely satisfying selections....A very nice way to spend an anniversary in an unfamiliar city.More

We were seated promptly, however our server took 10 minutes to greet Us. A table seated next to us were greeted, got drinks and cornbread before we were even greeted. We ordered appetizers and I was very clear we wanted them first, however our entrees...arrived 5 minutes after. My wedge salad was okay, very basic. My fried chicken was barely warm and very dry. The Mac&Cheese was warm, not hot. The biscuit served was very soggy. The food is very overrated, seems to be all premade/ precooked sitting under heat warmers. Our waiter wore black sneakers that were literally falling apart with huge holes in them, you could see his socks. What kind of management would allow that? I could not recommend.More

Coming from a big city, this place was great value. The food was great. It doesn’t quite compare to big city chef restaurants, but I wouldn’t expect it to at these prices. It looked like a place people go to for a night out. I...would pass on the pot roast. The pork tenderloin, scallops, and pork belly were really enjoyable. We liked the succotash and grits. It was gluten free friendly.More

This is a nice place south of downtown Chattanooga in a shopping district. We sat on the outdoor patio which was nice. The food was very good, we shared the trout which was nicely cooked. Pimento cheese and fried pickle appetizer was also quite good....The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the service was quite slow. We weren't in a real hurry, and our server was friendly, so not a huge deal. But I don't think I'd come here if I had a show or event to get to where time was important.More
