As others have said, this tiny restaurant deserves all its stars. The food and service are spectacular! We had the secretos and the lombo and both were done to perfection. We lucked out on the restaurant by accident, but next time we will go there...on purpose! Fantastic!More

Excellent restaurant! Very careful service and delicious food. This place located close to Luso is well worth the visit. Family run for 3 generations, this place serves varied menus all of which prepared with great care. Also homemade deserts with garden fruits.

Real Portuguese atmosphere. Very nice food, great guy, Jorge, who runs the place. He speaks very limited English, my Portuguese is almost not existent, but together we worked out everyrhing in a very pleasant stay.

Not a mainstream restaurant or on the route. You have to explore and pursue this family-style restaurant, to eat its delicious food. Good environment, where the owners receive and serve you with a smile on their faces. Not to mention the great recommendations and the...quality of their products. I had a chicken francesinha (for the first time, by their recommendation) and I loved it! Reasonably priced presenting great flavour, quality and service. Suitable for a solo lunch or family dinner. Worth the detour!More

Having read reviews on TripAdvisor decided to try this restaurant. It’s slightly out of the way but definitely worth the detour. We chose one portion of grilled black pork between two which came with salad and chips. Pork was thinly sliced and absolutely delicious. Although thinly...sliced it was tender and very tasty. Having experienced large portions previously in Portugal we asked whether one portion between two would suffice and told we could always order more if needed. In fact, without us asking the waitress brought us an extra piece of pork which made it just the right amount. The waitress was so helpful despite the language barrier. We also had pudding which was also really good. There’s a good selection of wine but we chose a half litre carafe of local red which was very drinkable. This is a straightforward restaurant which serves really good quality food with excellent service. Without a doubt I would recommend trying it out.More

My wife and I dined here and had a really pleasant evening made welcome by Jorge the chef and owner. I had picanha na brasa and my wife had bitoque. Both dishes were delicious, presently really well and the portions were perfect rather than huge!...the menu is certainly more varied than other regional restaurants so there's something for everyone. I really do recommend this restaurant for a good meal and ambience!More

Stopped by on our way to the North. Suggested by TripAdvisor as best restaurant nearby and it met all expectations. Super friendly staff, amazing homemade food - had the typical (super tasty and tender) Ossos Cozidos and Alheira na Brasa. Great original Figs Mousse (Mousse...de Figos) and Pumpkin Cheesecake (Cheesecake de abóbora). Definitely worth the diversion from our route!More

We were spending a few days in Luso/Bussaco during COVID "lockdown" when many restaurants and hotels were closed. Since the holidays were kind of heavy, we we were looking for lighter options than the traditional "leitao". We decided to go beyond the beaten path. We...found this restaurant specialized in barbecue. We weren't disappointed. We have tried "Secretos de Porco preto" (meat from black pork) and (Posta de vitela) a thick veal steak. Thise were amazing. Both meats were tender and juicy. If yoh are looking for a special taste, please choose the pork. Each meat comes with 2 side dishes at your choice. We chose: batata a murro, migas (you really need to try this bean, cabage, corn bread side dish, which is typical from Portugal. You will not be disappointed. We decided to choose a typical Bairrada wine to go with the meat. If you are in doubt on what to drink, just ask the owner for advice. He is very friendly and will be very happy to assist you with your choice. I would love to give you some tips on desert options, but I can't. We weren't able to save room for it.More

This is a fantastic local restaurant, just off the highway, serving beautifully cooked and presented Portuguese food. In an area specializing in Leitao they have made their mark by instead focusing on offering everything but Leitao. Try one of the daily specials for a treat....The father and son who run the bar and restaurant, will show you a warm welcome and the attention they pay to their guests is also reflected in the attention paid in the kitchen. Always well worth a detour.More
