We went there to est the "leitao de Bairrada". This is not a fancy place but the food is really great, including the "leitao" and the local sparkling wine. Service is a bit erratic but did not spoil the experience.

This is a below average, over expensive restaurant for suckling pig. Small portion, mostly bones and skin, non- savory pig. Poor quality rice, non-savory chips. There are many better options, including outside Mealhada.
The “individual” chickens let’s call them “suckling chickens” 😀where grilled perfectly. The sucking pig was crispy and tasty. Service way above average. There is nothing we disliked. Typical Portuguese eatery. We definitely would go back here !
The Churrasqueira Rocha is a place were you can eat one of the best suckling pig in this area of the county without having to confront masses attracted by fashion names and employees that pick prominent socials over unknown ones. At Rocha you are served...with efficacy and advice is provided if required. Not the cheapest option but you get what you pay for. A place to return.More
Food is wonderful and so are the serving staff. Plenty of parking. I think I have tried most of the menu in here as it’s so good we go back so often. Chanfana, Spitadas, Leitao, Beef steaks, etc all fantastic. Please do try the Pudim...Flan or the Molotov Desserts, so wonderful.More
This restaurant came highly recommended and it didn’t disappoint. Bright airy and clean, attentive staff, excellent choice of food, although the Suckling Pig is what it has built its reputation on and little wonder, it is delicious. Thoroughly recommended by all. BeeseyDave 😎😎🐝🐝
This has been my favorite restaurant to eat “Leitao”, in Mealhada, for years. The price is ok and the service is very warm and fast. I totally recommend you to go there if you are looking to try our famous “baby pig”. Just be careful...with the opening days. I believe they close on Monday’s and Tuesday’s.More
Crisp on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. Delicious potato chips as well. My husband doesn't eat pork but his octopus with rice was also very good. Try the croquettes to start. Yum.
Unbelievable , family style , traditional Portuguese food . Extremely homey . Awesome experience !!!!
This is well known in the north of Poutugal for the baby Suckling pig (Leitoe) maybe i've misspelt this but the resturant is always busy this is a good signFood was greta service also very attentive, only problem for me it was a long drive...from LabrugeMore
Definitely the best restaurant to eat Mealhada's piglet. Well served and perfectly cooked. The only inconvenient is that is always packed, better come in early.
It’s definitely not the restaurant decor or ambiance that is the draw here! It’s quite simply the excellent Leitao. The dining room is a large open space with lots of tables and can be quite noisy. The main attraction (suckling pig) was delicious and came...with fresh made chips , Spanish pototatoes or crisps whatever they are called in your language! Bottom line is they are good. Meal Pricing for such a delicacy was pretty reassonable. So go for the pig with a bunch of friends and you will have a good time. We actually left the restaurant and drove straight into a hurricane..........but the pig was definitely worth the drive!More
Leitao is a LECHON (Little black pig) which was fed with bellotas, same used as the rare and appreciated Jamon Serrano. At this Churrasqueria you feel the ambiance of being with natives from Portugal. The Leitao is unique full of mild flavors. Its skin is...crispy as a potato chip and the wines "VERDE" matches great with it. do not miss the opportunity to enjoy this meal accompanied with native Portugueses!!More
We stopped at the Churrasqueira Rocha on our return trip from the northern City of Chaves and on the way to Lisbon. We wanted to try something new. This restaurant is located outside the main street on the road that leads to the Bucaco Palace....There is parking lot and this evening a bus was stationed at one end. A large room, with lots of people, TVs, loud, looking like a cafeteria style. The restaurant has long roots in he area dating to 1979. The chosen entries were the lagartos de porco (rump skirt pork) and the leitao (roasted piglet). Both of them were well prepared, served with vegetables and round potato chips. Service busy but attentive.More
The restaurant is located outside Mealhada on the road to Buçaco and Luso. It has a parking place for the car. The room is very spacious and all the equipment is new, from the WC to the whole building. The restaurant has even an ATM...machine inside. The food was well cooked and it has the typical dish of the region: "leitão" (suckling pig). The dishes come with salad or legumes. The drawback are the chips, they come by default. The staff are nice and caring. The menu is quite good and the wine list very complete. The desert section has very helpful pictures.More
