Despite living relatively local to Edinburgh and traipsing up and down the Royal Mile on quite a few occasions, I must admit that I'd never really ventured down the closes so I was very pleasantly surprised with all the hidden gems just off the Royal Mile. Loved the pubs and the booze and really enjoyed the very informative tour and discovering parts of Edinburgh that I never knew existed.

This was a fun way to spend an evening in the great city of Edinburgh. Pitched at just the right level it provided entertainment and information in equal measure. Our guides were husband and wife duo Paul and Hazel, who brought the characters to life and were the perfect hosts. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a pleasant evening with some mental stimulation and a few drinks.

We undertook this tour one evening during a week spent in Edinburgh for the Fringe. We were a party of 5 (my wife, our three children 22, 20, 19 and myself) and joined half a dozen others to make up a party of 11. The distance walked was no issue for our party and the whole tour took about two and a half hours.

We enjoyed ourselves so much on the Edinburgh Literary Pub (Walking) Tour! The cast for our evening was Alex (Mr. Clart) and David (Mr. McBrain). These gentleman were very engaging and entertaining. They also provided a lot of wonderful information about many of Edinburgh's famous writers. We especially enjoyed Alex's marvelous "Scots dialect." He made every bit of prose come alive to hear it said in this manner. The banter between these two gentlemen was fun and added to the delight of the sights they took us to and the stories they told. Highly recommend!! :-D

This was really the first thing we did after getting into town and I was so glad. Hazel and her husband(sorry his name escapes me) were amazing and knowledgable plus friendly. You'll not be disappointed!!

Great way to hear about the history of writers in Edinburgh. Hosts were very entertaining and informative, taking us to a couple of pubs that would not have otherwise been on my radar! Did not realize there would be some steep hills/stairs for my mom with a bad knee, but they were extremely accommodating for her too.
