During our port stop in Roatan on July 31st, our family of 4 (two teenagers) did the 3 reef snorkel hopping tour with ROA. We also had a choice to do the Monkey and Sloth Hangout or the Beach break. (We did the Monkey and Sloth Hangout which was amazing too) Herbert, the owner came and picked us up at the port where we went to where the boat/dock is and where he lives. EVERYTHING went smooth from the sec we got into his car to the sec we got back out again! His staff was fantastic, helpful and very attentive to our needs. We felt safe at all times and it was also very well organized and comfortable. The reefs in Roatan were AMAZING! A must to see and having the 3 snorkel stops made it a nice variety of snorkeling. This is also not a privet tour so we did have others on our trip/boat and there was some shuffling back and forth to pick up and drop off but it didn't bother us one bit because the boat was fun to ride on and it added to our adventure. Plus it was great meeting other travelers! There is also bathroom facilities and gear provided before leaving. They were very patient with us while we fitted our gear, changed and got ready to head out. When all was finished, Herbert drove us back to the port. While talking to him it is very apparent that he is very passionate about his company as well as the reefs. It was such a great experience working with him and his staff and if ever we find ourselves in Roatan again on our cruise we will for sure be doing another excursion with him! Thank you Herbert and staff for making our visit in Roatan so amazing and memorable!

Herbert, the owner, and his staff (Garrett and Michael) were fantastic for our day in Roatan. They alll were professional, knowledgeable, and informative during our snorkeling adventure. We snorkeled three stops, including a shipwreck, and their beautiful barrier reef. We were also able to do a short beach break as well as the animal park. My kids, 10 and 12, were first time snorkelers but good swimmers. They were able to snorkel all three locations without life jackets/ floaters. We loved the snorkeling stops even though the weather wasn't great. The coral formations were unbelievably beautiful! Colorful fish were everywhere. We even saw an eagle ray and lobsters! The trip wasn't overcrowded, we were not rushed, and we felt safe as the trip was well organized by Herbert. We made it back to the RC ship on time without problems. I highly recommend using ROA for your Roatan adventures. We hope to visit again one day.

We did the 3 snorkel tour and beach break with Roatan Ocean Adventures on July 3, and it was one of the best snorkeling experiences we have ever had. Herbert picked us up from Coxen Hole (where Norwegian docks), and drove us back to his dock, which is located directly across from Big French Key. It was literally only a few steps from where we parked to the boat, and from there we were off.

Because we arrived earlier than the other travelers booked that day, Herbert decided to send us out to the first reef with Garrett, our guide, and Micheal, the captain, and we did our first snorkel directly off of Big French Key. The coral was in great shape, and the fish were outstanding. We saw a wide variety of fish, including eagle rays and eels, and spent around 45 minutes drifting over the reef.

Our second snorkel spot, once we picked up the other people in the group, was a shallow snorkel, which was interesting but nowhere near as exciting as the first snorkel. However, the third spot we stopped at blew everything else away. Giant canyons of coral culminating in a sheer drop downward, and also included a shipwreck as well. This was the largest coral I have ever seen, and it was teeming with fish, eels, huge lobsters and other aquatic life. What is also nice about this trip is that you are not spending an inordinate amount of time in a boat, trying to make it out to the coral--instead, the snorkel spots we went to were relatively close to the dock, giving us more time to snorkel.

If you enjoy snorkeling, I cannot recommend ROA enough. They have a dedication to protecting the reef, and make sure that you understand how to best enjoy your snorkeling experience. Another great aspect of it is that you will receive a bunch of pictures that they take of your group and the fish and coral that you see during your trip. On our trip, Garrett was swimming with us, GoPro in hand, making sure to take pics of the things that we saw. As far as the guides and boat captains are concerned, they are all cousins of Herbert's, making it a definite family affair. Both Michael and Garrett were incredibly personable and knowledgeable, and served to make the trip even more enjoyable.

At the end of the snorkeling portion of our trip, we had the option of a beach break, or heading back to the cruise port, and we chose to go back in order to do some shopping. Herbert drove us back and dropped us off at the port, ending a great excursion day. We will definitely be booking with him the next time we come to Roatan.

This company was recommended by some friends of ours and I'm so glad we booked with them! They took very good care of our family of 10 people! We did the animal park tour where we were able to hold and see monkeys, iguanas, and birds. Erickson was our guide and he took very good care of us! After the animal tour they took us to an island beach area which was beyond beautiful! we were able to relax and enjoy the water, see more animals, eat a good lunch etc. They made sure we made it back to our ship on time. We met Herbert and he made sure his staff took good care of us which they did, especially Erickson! Thank you for a wonderful and amazing experience!!

We booked our excursion directly with ROA. Everything went great. Herbert was very responsive and sent detail instructions that were easy to follow. He was waiting at the port upon departure. Drove us to the boat with a nice history of the island. Garrett and Michael took us out in the boat for three stops of snorkeling. The snorkeling was amazing. The reef was beautiful. By far the best reef we have seen. The drop off was really cool along with the sunken ship. Ended with some great beach time at the beautiful Little French Key. ROA is a top notch group. When back in Roatan, they will be the first place we book.
