Had a wonderful experience with my family touring Panama being managed by Truly Panama Tours. We toured the rain forest that included a zip line tour, the city of Colon which also included a train ride on the Panama Railway, and the French Quarter section of Panama. Highly recommend Edgar, Julian and Joshua as guides. Each were highly knowledgeable and very engaging with our family.

Truly panama provided us with every opportunity to enjoy the many wonderful places in panama. From airport pickup to special lunches on full day tours nothing was omitted. Their choice of places to see gave us a real feeling of panama life. Our particular guide Edgar was as pleasant as knowledgeable. We were even treated to a close up viewing of the canal locks. Not available to most tourists. This agency is really five star

My husband and I spent two days with Truly Panama Tours. This is Day 1. Our guides were Carlos and Eric - I simply cannot omit Desiree who was the person who put it all together for us and was patient with my 10000000 questions!
Day 1 - Jan 17th 2018 (my birthday)
Personalized tour as it was my 50th birthday and I was born (Army brat) in this country. We started at Milaflores (canal) then off to Fort Clayton to find my old home and hospital among other gems! Then we went to Casco Viejo and toured the buildings, with the cobble stone narrow streets, with the most amazing walking history tour ever! And finally we were off to Panama Viejo which was founded in 1519 and looted and destroyed by Henry Morgan - Pirate. Yes his ship was named the black pearl. The ruins here were a MUST SEE! the history is deep and this tour was over the top.
If I had to leave after 1 day and only got to do this 8 hour day I can say I truly know Panama because of it. I saw so many amazing things. Even the Bridge of America's!
Carlos and Eric became fast friends with my husband and I. Carlos was our guide while Eric was our driver. Both are the kindest ever! I couldn't think of better people to spend my 50th birthday with than this group!
p.s. lunch was included as well as tickets to EVERYTHING we went to and saw and OMG FANTASTIC! I will update when I remember the name of the restaurant!

Day 2 - Santa Clara Beach (Pacific Ocean)

We had nothing planned for Day 2 and after spending a full day with Carlos I woke up at 8 am and emailed Desiree. I told her I would like to go to a beach. Not some touristy OH GO HERE beach but a Panama beach. I chose Santa Clara.
Within 30 minutes we had a hour to get ready. Desiree found us a tour guide and we packed up to go! The driver was prompt. his name was Hernan Gutierrez! What a charming, intelligent, and funny gentleman! Boy we got lucky day 2 also!
We stayed at the Marriott in Panama City and it took us 1 hour and roughly 40 minutes to get to the beach. We got there and paid $3 to use the beach. It was clean, there was a bar/restaurant on site and there were also cabanas with hammocks to use for $15 a day. We went with the $3.
While laying there a sweet black dog came up to me (I work for dog rescue so I was smitten) I gave him some water to drink out of my hand and fed him a snack. He was so sweet and gentle. I wanted to take him home. But alas my husband refused. If you go and see this angel please be kind, give him a hug for me.
Anyway back to the beach. The view is amazing! The water was refreshing and we had an amazing time. we were there 2.5 hours and felt like we may be burning. You can bring the sunblock but it doesn't work unless you use it.... that's my tip of the day!
Anyway, we showered - facilities on site along with restrooms to change in and found our driver. He handed us cold bottled ice waters and off we went back to the hotel. We got to know him quite well and enjoyed our time with him and at this beach.
Don't listen to other reviews. this is a good beach! Has everything you need and isn't crowded! The people are kind and this tour guide didn't stear us wrong. He even sent the restaurant owner over with a cervesa for each of us while we soaked up the sun! Talk about service!!!!!!

Because of Desiree, Carlos, Eric, and Hernan - I will return again. I love this country and these people - You cannot go wrong with this tour group.
Of course I am only back two days and probably left out things. Feel free to ask questions!
GO TO PANAMA - use Truly Panama Day tours! They make the trip for sure!

Try day 1 or day 2 or anything your heart desires with this company while in Panama! They are simply the BEST out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I spent two full days in the Panama City area. We were touring the area with Edgar of Truly Panama, and he was the absolute best guide we've ever had! (And we travel a lot.) He was knowledgeable, organized, but also silly. He went out of his way to ensure we saw all the sites and wildlife we were hoping to see in the Gamboa rainforest and in the mangroves. We also took a helicopter ride over Panama City and the Canal. Fun and memorable!

I booked this tour based on trip advisor comments. We were not disappointed. We were met off the boat by Joshua, whose knowledge about Panama and wild life was fantastic. We were then joined by Jonathan, and by the end of the day we felt that we had been show around by friends. They were great - knowledable, friendly, flexible and great, great fun. Thank you so much
