If you want to learn about the dark history of whitehaven and some good bits its well worth a visit plus there's a good cafe there as well
Thank you for your review Kevin. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again in the future.
Authentic walk around the Jefferson Rum Story. Great exhibits shows the time line and success of trade over the last 200 years.
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review Tina. We always like to hear what people think of the exhibition.
Had lunch in the Cafe to support an ' Independent ' while visiting the Taste Cumbria event. 1. Portion of Chips missing from our order. Not clear if we were charged for them as we weren't offered a reciept. 2. The other portion of Chips was disgusting. Not cooked properly and covered in frying oil. My guess is they were old fashioned chips. Fresh potatoes cut and deep fried which could be a selling point. Instead the insides were raw and the frying oil was greasy rather than crisp because they hadn't been cooked properly. 3. Ghastly cup of Coffee. My guess they hadn't used fresh beans hence the ' dish water ' appearence and taste. All Cafe's have the odd glitch but to mark up an inacvurate order, uncooked food and disgusting Coffee in one visit is " never going again " territory.
Thank you for taking the time to send us this review David. Your experience has been passed on to our Rum Story Manager who will look into what happened during the Taste Cumbria weekend. We hope that you will come back and see us again in the future and if you give us a call before the next time you visit, will arrange for a voucher for you to use in the Café.
Absorbing and atmospheric attraction detailing the story of Rum from growing the sugar to bottling the finished product. With the added bonus of a small tot of the subject of the attraction at the end.
Thank you for your review, we are glad that you enjoyed our Jefferson's Rum and it's history.
Warm and friendly reception led us to a fascinating trip through time to the sometimes dark past of slavery. Well set out, covering all aspects of the rum story and even managing to link it in to American prohibition. Something to see round every corner! Great!
Thank you for your kind comments, we hope you visit us again soon.
This was an interesting look into the history of making rum.It takes you through the making, from cutting the sugar cane to the final product, and the family history. You are offered a taste of rum when you leave..very strong.
Thank you for your review, we are happy to hear that your found our history interesting.
